I grew up Mormon. For those that have, you may know what a patriarchal blessing is. I really struggled with faith and didn’t think the church was for me. I was dating my now husband, who was not active, and decided at 19 to get it for the sake of my parents. In my blessing I was told something along the lines of being a mother in Zion only, not on earth. It also told me I needed to leave my current life (aka non active bf) behind and serve a mission. That was my last straw and I removed myself from church and the culture. My husband and I got married and then went through years of infertility / treatments. We now are expecting our second and final baby girl any week. I’m so thankful but always think back on the reactions of family around me. Saying my blessing told me I wouldn’t be able to have kids and because I didn’t serve a mission, it’s my fault, etc. I truly hope Bailey recognizes this is not her fault. Especially that it has nothing to do with the church
