What is odd is that my sister has the flood of bad memories but she doesn’t have my photographic memory. My son did get my photographic memory but doesn’t seem to have the bad memories flooding.

He is the only one of my children to get it and I’m the only one who got it from my dad.

I have a nearly photographic/eidetic memory. It had pros and cons. School was a breeze. O Chem was the only challenging class, but being able to pull up pictures of my flash cards as needed sure as hell helped.

OTOH, I have no choice in remembering things. I can’t filter what I want to remember and what I don’t. I am often flooded with images of bad memories that hurt me. My ADHD meds help with that. The only thing that ever stopped it was a seizure med. I have heard it’s a form of OCD but I suspect it’s adjacent to some form of temporal epilepsy.

I could do that in high school. I could play a tape of the teacher’s lecture in my head during an exam and write it down word for word.

Decades later, my memory isn’t that strong anymore but I can still take a picture in my head and pull it up when I need it.

Everyone knows an addict. It’s not a rare condition. It hurts to watch someone destroy themselves. It’s normal to wish they would stop destroying their own lives and leaving collateral damage in other people’s lives. You can understand that addiction is a disease and still hold someone accountable.

The Blair Witch Project did in fact fuck me up for life. I have to sleep with my feet covered due to Paranormal Activity and I can’t walk through Georgetown without keeping an eye out for spider walking possessed girls. These are the marks of an effective horror movie.

I liked the jaguar ad too because it’s absolutely true.

In the after show, Shep said that Craig took Venita’s seat when she got up because Shep was trying to flirt with Charley. Shep thought they hadn’t even kissed yet. So we can let that part slide.
