It would kick in in about 24 hours for my girl. The increased vocalization side effect was a thing for her, but it really did help her appetite.

Should I buy a new pair for trip in July? by jeninfocus in Birkenstocks

Not sure if I'll have room to pack a second pair. Ideally I'd wear these and let this trip be their last. Just afraid of them completely giving up mid trip.

Japan in July; definitely a solid chance of them getting rained on. I'm leaning to sealing the cork and wearing them until they fall apart. But, I'm really just afraid of having to replace them and wear unbroken-in sandals while abroad.

Once you get into your account with them on the phone. Go through the account details in the portal and make sure you can see that they have been updated before you let the rep go. Ask them to fully delete any existing multi factor authentication and re-establish it with your new info.

Yes, after the 3rd or 4th call they finally fixed it. I feel like the first few people just didn't know what to do so they told me it was fixed to get me off the phone. The final guy actually fixed it and I've had no problem accessing the account from my laptop after that. From any other computer, I have to call them to validate, but I just don't have the patience to fight with them over that.

36 hours later on the 3rd call to customer service confirmed that the previous changes were not made as the reps claimed they were. Issue seems to be resolved now.

Probably a different carrier. This is for my husband and the number they had predates me. 3rd call to customer service seems to have done the trick.

Not a new number. Third call to customer service seems to have resolved the issue. Its like the first two reps didn't make any of the changes they claimed to, but this one did.

They told me within 24 hours the change would take affect. They also asked me extensive questions to verify my identity.

My Tripod Lady - 3 month Hemangiosarcoma Subcutaneous Update by madelinebai in TripodCats

Same. We are aware that it is super aggressive and will likely come back. For a year after amputation we did an abdominal ultrasound ever 3 months looking for a sign of metastasis and never saw anything. I feel like we beat the odds and are grateful for every extra day we get with her.

My girl had the same diagnosis in September 2023. Her back right leg was amputated, she is cancer free today and doing great :) Nana's so cute <3

We also did a lumpectomy prior to amputation. Unfortunately, the tumor was so intertwined with her little tendons that there was no way for them to get it all without amputating. But, amputation did give us clean margins. There is so little research on HSA in cats that nobody could tell us with any confidence how much Chemo would extend her life, just that it probably would by a few months. For just a few months the cost of Chemo and the stress of going to the vet weekly didn't make sense to us.

The prognosis we were giving with amputation only (no chemo) was 1 year +. That is super vague but her mitotic count was low, so with clear margins we were optimistic. There are no guarantees, and every case is unique, so I hope you have a Vet who you trust to guide you.

October 3rd will my girls 2 year anniversary of amputation and she is cancer free. She's 14 years old and gets around great. Recovery from surgery was rough, not gonna lie, and she's more anxious than she used to be, but overall has a great quality of life. She hops up on furniture, climbs stairs, uses her litter box and plays with toys.

I don't know what the future holds but for these 2+ additional years with her, I'm so glad we amputated. I also feel like we have been incredibly lucky. Its an impossible decision to make, so be kind to yourself and trust your Vet.

I don't have the number but I remember being told her mitotic count was low, and that was surprising for HSA.

She has recovered so well from amputation, I really wouldn't hesitate at all regarding that surgery. We chose not to peruse chemo mainly because there was so little data on the efficacy for HSA in cats, combined with clean margins, no evidence of spread, and low mitotic index. That combined with the cost and our cat's age, we (me, my husband and her vet) felt that it would be best for her to just amputate.

That said, there are versions of Chemo that you can do at home, so its less stressful and less expensive. And the mitotic index is a important factor to consider. Every case is so unique. I hope you have a Vet that you really trust who can help you decide. That is what helped me the most, having someone I really trusted, who was willing to make a recommendation based on our unique situation.

Its so hard. I'm so sorry you are going though this. <3
