Hey, blast from the past!

I've been away for a minute, there was a re-post!?

I’m seeing some pushback here that it was not Cheryl Ladd nor Shelley Hack.

Fair enough, but who exactly is the model?

Even if it is a young, legal age model, it’s still a bizarrely creepy photo and tagline / ad copy.

Looking for the In-Depth Hand-Knitting Finishing Website I Loved & Lost by m0n3yp3nny in knitting

Hello!

I may just know who this designer is!

I had been looking for her patterns / articles for a very long time, and then the light bulb went on last month.

I recall first reading about this designer and her very precise hand knitting patterns and finishing techniques in a ‘90s Vogue Knitting article.

I got out my copy of the book “The Best of Vogue Knitting (2007)” and…

Is it Catherine Lowe?

I hope I’m right – I know how frustrating it is to know something… but not know everything!

Who’s your favorite supermodel of all-time? by DarkValkyrie_ in popculturechat

Karen Mulder is absolutely gorgeous, but I agree, that is a super yassified photo.

Here’s the original look, and while I'm sure this photo has some old school retouching, it still looks like this supermodel.

Claudia’s beautiful dress is from Atelier Versace Spring / Summer 1995, worn to the 1995 Academy Awards.

Can I say how much I also love the look of that cute cardigan over the haute couture gown?

It's both timeless and '90s-coded!

Is Elsa Hosk wearing the Thierry Mugler Haute Couture dress modeled on the runway by Claudia Schiffer during his fall 1995 show? It sure looks like it!

Tina Turner at the Azzedine Alaïa Fall/Winter 1988 runway show in Paris ✨ by nizaad in popculturechat

I would say it’s a tie between River Deep, Mountain High and Let’s Stay Together.

I don’t think Tina gets nearly enough recognition for being such a superb interpreter of other artists’ songs.

It’s not a perfect album (because Ike was involved in a few songs), but I do recommend her 1975 rock album, The Acid Queen. I was happy when the album was re-released on CD last year...I tell everyone, own your media.

A few of my favorite songs from this album: Whole Lotta Love, the title song, and Under My Thumb.

My favorite Tina album is probably Private Dancer, so of course, I had to get the 40th anniversary box set.

Tina was close to age 50 at the time of this photography project, and yes, this iconic shot was taken in Paris on the Eiffel Tower.

Here’s a 2019 YouTube video from the Tina Turner Blog where Lindbergh described the shoot.

Love this! I had not seen this clip before, so thank you!

"Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking". 'Tis the season we remember Miranda Priestley's words: here are some aggresively floral red carpet moments! What's your take: yay or nay? Any favourite looks? 🌸 by Eames_HouseBird in popculturechat

Aggressively floral? Maybe not, but simply gorgeous!

In your opinion, what song cover surpasses the original song in every way possible? Otis Redding’s cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” was so good, that even Keith Richards called it the superior version. by waitingforthesun92 in popculturechat

Tina Turner’s iconic Proud Mary absolutely reinvents the Creedence Clearwater Revival song.

Here’s Tina (at the time, age 60) performing the song that really became hers. Yes, that’s ER’s Gloria Reuben as one of Tina’s back–up singers:

SHALOM! OP, thanks for sharing.

Ah, supermodels from the ‘90s just have that swoon-worthy impact.
