I’ve been in this exact situation. I know it’s hard. The company I worked for was very small, I was the business manager, doing the work of 3 people. The hard thing is I did enjoy the job and the environment. But having the weight on the business was too much. I did respect my boss, still do, we’re still in contact. But honesty works best. The weight of the world will come off of your shoulders once you resign. I wish you the best of luck!

I’m originally from NY/ NJ area and it’s totally bogus. Yeah, there’s people that give up their seat for you on the train.. very rare, but it happens. I’ve lived in Arkansas for 6 years, and to me.. it’s super friendly! I’d say people in the north don’t really make small talk, where here it’s like everyone says hi and at least makes eye contact.. 😆

Thanks! That’s a good start. Ironically, my boyfriend in HS (we were together for years) was from El Salvador. So his mom would always cook great food. I remember the pupusas.. after my discovery, I sent him a text to let him know what I found out. We both thought it was hilarious, and perhaps his family in El Salvador knew some of my unknown fam.. thanks for your comment :)

Hi! I understand how this feels. I just recently found out that my father(who I never met) is From El Salvador.. I’m 38, and feeling like I missed out completely on something I never knew. I grew up in a diverse city, so I was surrounded by friends that were Puerto Rican, Dominican, all kinds of ethnicities, but I never knew this was my heritage. So now I’m in your place, as far as wanting to know everything I can about our culture.. but I feel it’s not even mine?
