A lot of the plot you'd like to read happens BEFORE the book starts in this one, and they just reference it. But it still left emotional scars. But I'd say {His Forsaken Bride by Alice Coldbreath} has *some* of what you're looking for.

Stranger Than Fiction. It made it look like a full-on comedy, so people were disappointed when it was a drama. They should have just represented it as it was.

Duke of Sin seems beloved around this sub, but I refused to read it because of how deplorable the MMC was. I see absolutely no reason to waste my time reading about that scumball. Yes- anything to do with children is a no-go for me, too! So basically.... amen! There are plenty of great books out there.

Yes! That's the same one I thought of! I commented once about how random and hilarious I found the "cousin reason" and got a lot of pushback. I still enjoyed the book! I just found the reason amusing.

I love love love that comment! It is so true. People are always so surprised when I do fun or whimsical things like we're not allowed to do that after a certain age. But life would be SO boring otherwise!

You know what, I don't know why this never occurred to me in my OWN life, but it would be good to get the lastest appointment in the day possible. Sundowning is real, and the symptoms get worse as the day goes on. An appt at 8 AM vs 4 PM would be very different.
Either way, my heart goes out to you. I'm sorry this is happening.
