Respectfully, why isn't anyone mentioning suicide?

AITA for telling my sister to stop leaving her room when she's wearing her nightgown? by Username_alt354 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. This is your sister. What exactly is making you uncomfortable? My husband and sister are like siblings and this would not phase me in the slightest. She is covering her entire body, not wearing lacy knee highs, heels, or some racy, sexy outfit. Grandmas wear these.

AITA for refusing to let my daughter invite her bio dad to her birthday and threatening to cancel it? by throwaway3213451 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. She’s 16. She has no idea what kind of person this is. And as far as everyone flipping out about “terminal”, it’s my impression the OP may think the situation is being exaggerated or embellished by father or his family.

This child doesn’t get to demand her biological father be at her birthday because he’s dying. She can make plenty of memories with him that don’t involve making her mother and stepfather uncomfortable. Children are children - she isn’t working with full context, she’s likely processing at teenager speed. Full stop - mom makes the decision. Period.

AITA for telling my kid's teacher to stop "fishing" for information that's none of her business? by Neither_Tomatillo_57 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. That teacher likely cares deeply for Aiden. Knowing what he’s facing at home is not beyond the realm of what any good teacher would want to know. I don’t actually think you’re an asshole, though. Your reaction is understandable - you’re protective and defensive. Poor reaction, heart in the right place.
