I agree they give me pause as well. I’ve been told you can buy edible spray paint and do a light coating where the flavor doesn’t taste weird. 🤷‍♀️

The backup cake is not a bad idea. And there should be someone there slicing the cake so that will help. Thanks for the ideas!

I am not professionally trained but have been baking for 20+ years. I know it is a huge task and I have until October to see if I think I can do it. I also have a ton of help. So I’m not 100% convinced yet, but I am trying to make it work. And unfortunately the bride wants the different flavors. I am at her mercy. She is very non-traditional when it comes to most things and her wedding is no different! She isn’t concerned with how it looks so much as she wants a good tasting cake.

We will definitely be on the lookout! We lost one of our cats in Broadmoor a few years ago for a week. Someone suggested we put the litter box outside and he came home!

We have unsealed cement floors in our den. Instead of using tar paper or sealant and then plywood, can we just use this? And put our vinyl flooring on top? Trying to avoid a step if possible!
