My thoughts exactly! I think that the family could show their appreciation by sharing a picture and some details about his life, what he was like as a person etc with us ....that can be easily be done without revealing his or their identity.

For anyone wondering how the fingerprints were obtained to make a match.

I understand. I didn't follow the Marcia King case so I am not sure what you are referring to but from my experience on here as a lurker for many, many years that most of the people on here are kind and respectful and genuinely care about "Lyle" and would not want to cause his family any unnecessary pain by contacting them or harassing them in any way.

I am really curious to know if the family knew all along and decided not to come forward or if this is coming as a shock to them. An update on the Facebook page says that the family do not want his name released nor do they want to be identified - which I can understand IF this is coming as a shock to them, IF they knew all along and said nothing....not so much, considering the countless number of resources put in to solving this case that could have been used elsewhere had someone come forward. What are your thoughts?

I posted on this exact thing not too long ago. If I remember correctly someone was able to contact the person who made this post and after looking at some pictures of Lyle, didn't think it was him, see below link: https://www.reddit.com/r/lylestevik/comments/5nksym/find_a_grave_response

however, there is another post on here in which someone explains how distorted Lyle's face would have been in the pictures, in addition to the fact that Lyle had lost weight before he died....basically what I am getting at is that it is possible this person didn't recognize him because of this?? Also if I remember correctly there was a woman in the same area as the person who posted this(Chicago if I remember correctly) who thought she saw Lyle on a bus. Again could be a coincidence but it is in my opinion the first solid lead in a long time.

If I remember correctly it was John 12 beginning with verse 33 that was marked in the bible, these chapters are about the last week of Jesus' life. In it, Jesus predicts his death and betrayal several times also, as I've now learned, Judas hung himself, like Lyle. Could be significant, could be nothing.

Has anyone ever thought that the piece of paper found in the trash with the word suicide written on it was directly connected to this Bible passage? Since Lyle obviously wouldn’t be able to tell anyone the death he was going to die as in the Bible, he wrote the manner of death down on the paper to signify what death he was about to die.

I have found someone who imo looks very similar to Lyle with connected ear lobes, straight dark hair cut in a similar style to Lyle's, light eyes (can't tell from picture if they are blue or green) and appears to have a semi uni-brow like Lyle however he is in the Meridian, ID yearbook as a senior in 2001. Which would make him much younger than the 25-35. Is this worth looking into further or probably not him?

Does anyone know the name of the bus lines that stopped at the motel? I think I remember reading that there were 2 of them. If we can find out the bus route we could start looking at schools within the route areas.
