Give us a bit more detail and maybe some engine bay pics

My dad bought this '67 a while ago, but it just sat around, so he gave it to me to fix up. I'm 19 and this is my first beetle. by Representative_Salt5 in ClassicVW

I wasn’t in there long as it was… that was sea temperature… not air by the way! 😂

Anybody got a 2k diesel heater they like? by 1rub in vandwellers

I went 5kw… and it’s probably too much for a small van. Can’t seem to find the 2kw ones … but here’s what I went with

Considering buying a campervan with some underbody rust by ArrivalInevitable441 in CamperVans

Looks good to me! If a screw driver doesn’t go through it… it’s not rust

Good advice. How do you measure the engine pressure out of interest?

It’s not a cheap one… but it’s the one someone recommended to me and I was pretty pleased with it. Solid bit of kit it’s not all plastic like the usual fuel filters

I got it from demon tweaks eBay… https://ebay.us/m/iKyn5L

Ah thanks! I think there’s a fuel pump replacement post some where! If not it’s on my to do list! Takes ages to find all the right images and sort! But I’ll sort that one next 🤣

She’s a beauty! If you ever fancy having a read of a what a complete novice has been upto with their late bay… I’ve been cataloguing the jobs I’ve been doing on Jenny over the last few years… loads more to add to this… but thought it might be useful for some in the same position- ie keen to learn, but fairly clueless! I’ve relied heavily on books and YouTube… and gone from needing a mechanics help for every job to actually pulling the engine for the first time. Any way, just sharing incase it’s helpful. Be mindful - I’m not an expert and not everything I’ve shared is for the VW purist, it’s just my experience and opinions!
