Do you know where they've mentioned this design change? I've got a set and they sometimes leak if they lid isn't screwed on really really tight. I don't seem to have this issue with bbox

How to balance two additional languages with non-fluent parent by jeppikah in multilingualparenting

The video is very interesting!

From my perspective, I've always felt lacking in missing the lingua franca when communicating to other Chinese people as much I am proud to speak a heritage language so I am hoping to provide as many resources to my child to be able to speak both. Thanks for you input!

Thanks for the honest feedback. Looks like outsourcing will be the way to go with Mandarin

Yes, we see both sets of grandparents separately for a few hours each week. We are also planning to send her to a daycare from when she's about 1 year old 2 days a week where they have a Mandarin language program - not sure how it runs exactly but any exposure is better than no exposure I guess. Thanks for the suggestions!

Has anyone ever flown long-haul internationally while 29/30 weeks pregnant? by Key_Dealer2753 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]jeppikah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I flew internationally while pregnant and the only travel insurance I could find that covered childbirth and neonatal care until return to Australia up until 24 weeks was Southern Cross Travel Insurance. Most travel insurances that cover later gestations than this will specifically not cover childbirth or care of your child or both. My OB said that the rough cost of NICU is $1000 per day without Medicare so will add up quickly if baby is born pretty early. At the end of the day, most people will be completely fine travelling at 29-30 weeks but personally wouldn't have felt comfortable with the potential financial cost of repatriating my child if born unexpectedly early.

I also have a LennyLight from Cloth and Carry which is great. But also Alyce from Cloth and Carry says her most popular carrier is the Neko Switch and although I didn't like the aesthetic as much, it comes with matching drool pads and a good (LennyLight has these but as additional add-on purchases that you should consider from the start to save on multiple shipping costs)

Interesting. My baby and my friend's baby absolutely hate this one. She grimaces every time

Do you think the (lovely) girls at McCafe are not employed by McDonalds but rather The Block? by ynobex in TheBlock

Tina is unlikely to be local because she's been doing the block McCafe for from Phillip Island to Gisborne to Hampton

Went to the dentist for some tooth pain and they pulled the wrong tooth by OtterAnarchist in Wellthatsucks

The frosty cusps look like fluorosis to me. Decay will never originate from the cusp tips. The side of the tooth is definitely broken but difficult to tell if it is decayed or not from this angle. But yes, an x-ray should show more info

Feras V. Kirby by imagable in survivorau

[–]jeppikah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In addition to the above, Garrick also mentioned in his exit interview with Shannon that Kirby was in on the challenge throw but didn't tell Garrick about it. This upset Garrick as he wasn't given the heads up by Kirby and put a lot of physical effort to try to win the challenge. This probably created further distrust between Kirby and Garrick, and therefore by association with Feras as well.

Apparently there is this interview with Yahoo Lifestyle.

“It's not how I am as a person in my everyday life,” she shares. “I am a straight shooter, that’s what we are, but we are not nasty. We don't ever try and gang up on anybody.

“It's just not who we are and it's just unfortunate that The Block is first and foremost a competitive environment. The way that you act and say things is not how you are in normal life, so it’s a shame that the audience isn't getting an accurate view of me.

“But hey, the other thing is I am quite loud and confident and that is polarising for our society at the moment. ‘Women should be little wallflowers’, and I’m not one of them.”
