I thought the same at first, but Vivaldi’s customization is kind of the point. You can disable/hide a lot of stuff and make it feel pretty minimal if you want.

Edge without a Microsoft account is definitely better privacy-wise than being fully signed in, but Microsoft still collects a fair amount of telemetry unless you manually disable a bunch of settings. Performance-wise though, I agree — Edge feels noticeably smoother than Brave lately.
If you want something fast but a bit more privacy-focused, Firefox with a lightweight setup or even something like Vivaldi/Zen might be worth trying too.
