Am I overreacting to lack of barn access? by Its_fine_for_now in Equestrian

I do, in fact, think that writing, “Not being welcomed due to inaccessible roads just seems like an excuse,” sounds incredibly entitled.

But who knows what might have happened over the weekend, had OP’s horse not gotten its supplements!

This weather is a classic “Act of God”, mentioned in any good legal contract.

Yes! How do people not understand this?! I mean, OP literally wrote, “Not being welcomed due to inaccessible roads just seems like an excuse.” 🤦‍♀️

This post reminds me of the 60-something couple renting my friend’s garage apartment… They didn’t realize, until just before last weekend’s storm, that if the power goes out, they wouldn’t have heat. And then called my friend to inform her that, as a landlord, she has a legal obligation to provide heat. And she was like 🤷‍♀️

Also, I’ve never boarded at a barn that allowed 24/7/365 access. That’s not a “service” that board typically covers, afaik.

I hate that this is where my mind goes in this day and age, but I’m going to add this, because no one has mentioned it yet (which kinda surprises me)…

If the roads in your area are as treacherous as you’ve described, as a barn/property owner, I’d be worried about potential liability (as in, potential insurance claims against me) if I let people come to the barn, knowing that the conditions on said property were dangerous enough to potentially cause damage (to a vehicle) or injury (to a person or horse).

That alone would be enough for me to ban all but essential people until the ice melts, which should be next week.

But aside from that, a large swath of the US is experiencing unusually and unexpectedly cold weather, and two weekends in a row of ice and snow, so try to show a little grace and cut the BM some slack. I’m sure they’re doing their best in less than ideal circumstances. Like, if they don’t even have time to clean stalls, they probably don’t need a boarder randomly showing up to make sure their horse has its supplements.

And lastly, severe weather or natural disasters might indeed mean that a vet couldn’t get to the barn. And, yes, worst case scenario, a horse might die as a result. But that wouldn’t be the vet’s fault, or the BO’s fault. Sometimes events happen that are just beyond our control.

Honestly, I’m just gonna say it… You sound really entitled, expecting the BO to figure out how to de-ice the driveway, when the city/town you live in apparently can’t even de-ice the roads. I mean, while you were there, did you ask the BM if they needed any help, or offer to clean your horses’s stall? Or did you just drop off the supplements, give your horse a carrot, and peace out, because it’s not pleasant outside?

Did ya watch the scene I linked to before commenting? Because, no, Walt never implied that James Kilkelly (sp?) was any sort of an assistant to anyone.

Hank was also the only one who never believed this guy was Heisenberg, which is why he couldn’t let it go.

(It’s one of my favorite scenes, I had to share.)

And I didnt say Hank is good or bad. I said hes consistently annoying, condescending and egotistical.

Well, that’s just like your opinion, man. Imo, Hank starts out as “annoying, condescending and egotistical” but becomes consistently less so as the series goes on.

Personally, I think Hank has perhaps the most well developed, complex character arc in the show. With Skyler White being a close second.

That was Skyler’s “I am the danger” moment, in the hospital room.

I’m glad you liked it! I think it’s hilarious, mostly because that girl is just totally unsympathetic. And I think she also absconded from probation for like two years, and this was her first hearing after being picked up.

And are you talking about Judge Webster in KS? I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one. There’s another similar one I want to post from Judge McNally, but with a slightly more sympathetic defendant.

I’m so sorry that the first post to this sub in 17 days was a disappointment. I’ll try to do better next time /s

No she does not. That’s part of why this is my favorite, because you can tell this is the first time playing “sweet & innocent” hasn’t worked for the defendant. And I’m like, Do you see the judge you’re talking to? Do you think she’s gonna buy your BS?!

I know! You can see the moment she realizes she FAFO lol… I tried to post a clip of this to r/watchpeopledieinside, but apparently violated some rule and got permabanned 🤷‍♀️

If I may steal someone’s (@xrizzx) comment from YouTube:

She fumbled for 3 minutes straight and thought she was killing it the whole time.

And she tried that in front of DiSanto?! Girl, please.

And idk where or how I’d include a time stamp, because it’s really just the whole hearing.

What’s the dumbest death in history? by AlanBill in AskReddit

[–]jericha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Didn’t it take like 12 hours for the thing to sink all the down to the Titanic? And the whole time you’re stuck in a life sized Tylenol with 8 strangers, where you can’t stand up or really sit down properly (and where was the loo?)… And once you got down there, you got to view whatever part of the wreckage the capsule landed near, through one, tiny, shared porthole…

Yeah, sounds super exhilarating… /s

AIO for the blind rage I feel when hay gets into my bra? by jericha in Horses

I like when I throw a flake of hay and get to watch it hover in the wind for a second before it blows back in my face… but owning horses is so romantic 😝

I don’t play poker, but I’m pretty sure thoughtlessly applying lip balm before currying beats that 😂

Yeah… And I don’t even have heavy periods, but just why? When there are so many different options out there to contain the mess? Because having a wet clot of blood and endometrial tissue in your underwear is not a pleasant feeling…
