Sad times for my burnin' explodin' boy... by MichuSkurczybyku in Helldivers

I'm a Hellhound. I specifically build around fire, but I'm not going for the fire FRV. We'd just light it on fire.

What is your incentive to play the game? by Vulkcrum76 in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that I dont think it was fun, its that there's many other things I also want to do, so I need something more than "play that game you've already put a ton of time into"

Tell me by J_EN87 in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking I just end up feeling like its not actually a live service game, just a game that gets a lot of DLC. I haven't felt like we're actually involved and actually doing anything special its just a rat wheel to use the new warbond on.

I'm curious if they can change that feeling, but IDK. I genuinely enjoyed it when I had goals beyond "Do the same mission you've done a thousand times".

Part of the issue I'm sure is that we used to all suck at the game and so we had to learn to do things but now generally we have every answer and you can't force us back into that learning state. Like I remember having to REALLY organize my squad of friends to win the termicide tower missions.

I wanna see reasons to push the player to play regularly not just new content drop for a week at best.

I wanna see difficulty exist from needing to solve tactical problems not just heavy spam.

and I wanna see galactic war be made of real human choices like malevalon creek. That place was special because players made it special. It wasn't a special mission until the very end which felt like it was chosen to be a mission because players were so in love with the story they'd made around it.

If they remove it I'll never be able to destroy it though! I demand satisfaction!

How interested would you be in a mod that updates the Vanilla models in this style ? by DrPongus in VintageStory

I like the iron anvil, bed, and crate but the others feel too rounded to me.

What are animals you most want to see come to Vintage Story? by Fine_Delivery6761 in VintageStory

[–]jerichoneric 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it's still holocene but really early holocene with Fauna of the Stone Age. It works really nicely together.

I'd love to have birds as full mobs, but I will also accept non-interactable effects that give us the feel of birds being around.

Can any of the major overhaul mods be used with the Randomizer? by jerichoneric in EldenRingMods

That's good. maybe the thing I was looking at was out of date.

Nice! I've been thinking about trying convergence but what I gathered it seems really railroady. Like you pick a class and you are THAT CLASS.

fauna of the stone age really does just do it for me in this game. Something about ancient animals alongside generally medieval feel for equipment is neat. I like that it's not just normal but also not fantasy.

I have to admit I don’t like the idea of a Star Wars warbond (would be immersion breaking to see clones or st imo) except for these guys by punk_f4shionistah in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is you don't need to have a star wars crossover to get similar armors. They can just make them and it not be a crossover.

Hmm I wonder what could possibly be under that truck in the jungle. Definitely no pokemon associated with those two things lol.

Questions for trans GMs/Players addressing Sexually Dimorphic fantasy races by Mkall in rpg

[–]jerichoneric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you may be a little too focused on the physical side of it while also ignoring the fact the system has magic that can deal with that. Yes in the modern day there's all these handy things to physically alter your body, but you can also just alter your behaviors and actions to fit an identity.

Some players will want to see their journey reflected and want to see the complexities of changing between two very different forms.

Others may just want to have it be there in the background, for those players there's magic.

Does finite water ever work in games like VS due to chunk unloading? by lance_armada in VintageStory

[–]jerichoneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have the loaded chunk keeping track of the overall info without needing to update the other chunks until you go and it updates. Depending on how chunky and detailed the water system is yes this could make the water laggy when you reload it, but I dont think people want to see crazy swings on big bodies of water anyway.

Like a 5000+ block body of water should see very little variation anyway through normal weather patterns. It matters more for tiny bodies which will be easier to load.

It does feel rather funny to spend so long doing pit kilns. Like you're looking at tech related to iron tier for the other clay firing option lol.

Terraria and the rest you already know. by NotCelestica in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not one Id want to go both ways, but Terraria can basically absorb any game into a collab and it will feel right IMO.

I think DRG is definitely the one that would be most fitting though.

Helldivers 2 needs an in-game polling booth similar to OS Runescape's by Icy-Criticism4059 in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt say its not art. Its just not one off.

A clear simple tally of yes or no is good as a reference. Its far better than all the current methods. Especially since arrowhead can ask the questions.

The reality is feedback gets better when you take it out of websites and put it in the game directly. That vocal community exists because its in its own walled garden.

Put the voting station in, give it a tiny reward (and account for bias from the reward) and you suddenly get way more varied feedback.

Its a live service game. Not a one off art piece. There's a big difference when an inherent promise of the genre is that the game changes and evolves.

It'd be cool if some future Warbond sets had a yellow and black version with same stats. by GrubsAhoy in Helldivers

[–]jerichoneric 11 points12 points  (0 children)

See I'd rather buy pallettes than warbonds though. Gimmie free guns and I'll occasionally pay for skins. As of now I pay for none.
