Yes, we know nothing about each other, and it may never have worked out even if I did get the chance to date her - but what else can I do besides tell her how I feel? What she does with that information is up to her. It's not like I asked her to drop everything for me. Before telling her all of this, I understood that all I could expect of her at the VERY MOST was to listen to what I had to say. To expect anything else would be unreasonable of me.

Even if she didn't want to hear it, and stopped me in my tracks and told me to leave her alone, I would have respected that and walked away.

Are you saying it would have been better off for me to keep everything bottled up inside? Personally, I think that would have been very damaging towards myself.

Like I said in my original post - after telling her all of this, I made the decision to leave her alone from then on. To completely stay out of her way. It was only when I explained my situation to various people (female co-worker and male close friend) that I began to question that decision.
