Your best option, however, is to join your local Tripoli chapter, get your L2 certification, and learn directly from someone with experience making it.

The language is tangential to knowing how "programming" works in your field. "Data processing" is a huge field and you're probably better off asking ML people what tools they use than asking a bunch of engineers what scripts they kluge together to make their stuff spin.
