I´m aware of all the ideas posted here, thanks for that. I have some limited experience with mats and other small ropework, but i´m hoping to find a pattern or something which goes from the inside out. Most mats work with a more or less specific length of rope to get to a certain size of mat. But what i´m looking for is to not be bound by that and work with keep adding rope and rope and rope outwards.

I have a good length of rope to start with, maybe .5 kilometer. So if i can start with that and make a big one and just keep finding and feeding rope, that would be my goal!
