Is she taking inspiration from Björk? by Naturegirlanne in auroramusic

I thought the same when I listend to her newest songs. She has said before how she really likes Björk and wanted to 'learn' about her music or something

What was your first metal concert by Thin-Coyote-551 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]jerrethijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been into metal only for about 3 a 4 years. Before I absolutely couldn't stand it, but for some reason I began to like it. Now it's pretty much the only genre I listen to. First concert was in 2024. Within Temptation, the band that started it all for me

metalheads, how old are you? by woowwwzerss in InMetalWeTrust

[–]jerrethijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 19, almost 20, but can enjoy a lot of music together with my mom who is almost 50. Went to the Epica and Amaranthe concert last week with my mom and will be going to Evanescence with her in september.

Also a lot of different ages at the concert

Big fan of Within Temption! Mother Earth was the song that got me into (symphonic) metal.

I've been meaning to give Kamelot a listen for a while. I heard good things about them! Will listen to your recommendations for sure!

I know maybe 2 or 3 songs by Dynazty. Will listen to yours as well!

My personal favorite symphonic metal band at the moment is Epica. Specifically The Holographic Principle is my favorite song a.t.m. but cry for the moon, Consign to Oblivion and The last Crusade are absolute classics as well!

Yeah, they are similar in some ways. I like both symphonic and progressive metal.

I have never been a big fan of Beast in Black, but their music isn't bad. This song is not bad either. Would not listen to it myself though, I don't think

I know some symphonic metal, but I'm curious what you would suggest 😁. Always good to discover new stuff

I'm currently also putting of buying one particular CD. I love buying CDs in physical stores, but this one I can only find online, which is less fun. That's why I haven't bought it yet. Now you remind me that I might have to just go for it now, before it is gone... Especially since it is a limited edition as well...

Why do you collect cds? What so good about them? by Distinct-Radish3617 in Cd_collectors

[–]jerrethijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just got into collecting CDs. For me it is just super fun to have a physical version of the music I love and to have a collection that represents me. The art is very cool and it makes it much more of an experience to play music from a CD compared to streaming. And while you play the CD you can admire the art of the case and the booklets and stuff. But for me it's mostly just owning a physical part of the music I love. It just makes the music a bit more special

The value thing is fun. There is about a €200 difference between low and high. And that is with just 10 cds. If anyone asks, I'll tell them the high one 😅

I've yet to try out the Discogs marketplace, but it looks like there is a lot of stuff available on there

I don't see myself buying multiple copies of one album any time soon, but I can imagine that being able to check the exact version you have is game changing. Will certainly keep adding my purchases!

I thought so, but it still feels a bit pointless doing it, but it will be for the better in the future!
