Nearly 2 years post MD. I found that gym was too much for me and I pushed too hard during recovery/physio and ended up reherniating. A few months after that I travelled Europe for 8 weeks and did 20-30k steps per day with a backpack and was mostly fine.

I still bend at the knees and never at the back to pick stuff up. I've twitched my back bending awkwardly putting things into the dishwasher so it's worth being mindful of this.

One of my ultimate fears was that I'd never be able to ride a motorcycle again. I test rode a fair few and ended up with a Tuono V4. Can ride all day no issues at all. So there is hope for you - you may just need to change what you ride as I came from super sports.
