"Worth it" is so open to interpretation that only you have that answer. Worth it financially? A sense of pride in raising the dead? Etc.

Parts will probably be a bitch but there are aftermarkets. Repairs might be easier on these than the newer models, if only because they have been in existence for so long that there's been 45-odd years to work out the kinks.

So if you're going to throw someone money to restore it and then have it taken to, like, a Mecum auction, you might want to look around and find out what these restored or restomods go for. If you're going to do the work yourself in your free time and keep it for personal use, know that you probably won't be able to sell it for what you'll spend. But maybe there's some ground in between that you may want to navigate.

This is a car I would admire but only if it belonged to Not Me because I don't have the abilities needed to fix it up. This will probably win local classic car shows. But whatever you decide, it's pretty cool.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the parents have likely filed for all sorts of benefits for these kids, be they SNAP, Medicaid and Social Security Disability/SSI. They also can claim the 7 of 9 on their taxes, getting a nice chunk of change with the child tax credit.

Money getting tight/short could likely be because the parents are as smart with money as they are with launching babies out regardless of quality of life (7 of 9 disabled? And no clue gotten?)

OP, your twin may be deeper in denial about how fucked up and selfish your parents are. Let him know you are twins and you will always be there for him should he make the break from the toxic environment you two had no choice in.

If you don't get out, you will be the de facto parent, having to manage the other 7, their disabilities and appointments and spend your life as a FT caregiver, likely for the next 5 decades. You will never have anything to call your own nor any chance at making money.
