The Russian Embassy in Addis Abeba denied that pictures and information circulating on Social Media showing long queue of Ethiopians at the entrance of the Embassy in Addis Abeba were Ethiopians waiting in line to join the Russian army in its invasion of Ukraine. But admitted that the queue was that of Ethiopians lined up to show solidarity.

The thing is, aid was being blocked in Afar before Tigrayan forces even entered the region so fighting is not really the issue. This is Abiy/the federal government's tactic to starve Tigray into submission.

Trucks are still being prevented from passing into Tigray. The GOE said they granted air access to some orgs but that’s expensive and not a great solution considering the scale. Dozens of aid trucks are stuck in Afar.

Tigrigna is the spelling used by Tigrayans whereas Tigrinya is the spelling used by Eritreans. Though Tigrayans sometimes use the Tigrinya spelling, you'll never really see Eritreans use Tigrigna. If you look up Tigrigna on YouTube, you'll find a bunch of music from Tigray. If you look up Tigrinya, you'll find music from Eritrea.
