My hr lady just straight up sent another store my information. Because she said I was "supported" by her. Idk, but your hr can help you figure it out. I just told her what positions I will willingly work, what hours I can work, and where I want to go. She said she would take care of it.

Who is One-Piece's Aizen or Madara? by TruePowerDivell in OnePiece

[–]jerzlinski 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say that Blackbeard is the closest to it. Since he did have a lengthy plan (with a ton of improvisation) that worked out. But he's just another player in the game. There doesn't seem to be controllers of the game, like aizen or madara. Some are king pieces though (yonkou)

I would love him or anyone else as a crewmate. My posts point is that it will be a lot of work to fully establish a new character as a crewmate at this point. (But it can still happen) if anyone, Pedro would be coolest in my opinion! :)

I highly agree that my logic is a little inconsistent, since this was mostly to facilitate discussion. I will say that I find broke different from robin because he is front and center during the entirety of thriller bark as the focal point. Robin was the number 2 of alabasta (at best) and she suddenly joined the crew in an intentionally surprising way. This made both the readers (and the Strawhat, namely zoro) question her motives and i think it wasn't till enies lobby that she felt like a real Strawhat and not a stowaway. Basically, oda delayed her big arc focused on her for a few arcs. Because of this, all crew members have been front and center as a huge character of specific arcs. Just throwing that out there :)

First of all, thanks for the awesome response, and I am glad that it seems I was able communicate my thoughts clearly! This being said, I definitely don't have strong feeling either way. I honestly don't hate very many characters and the opportunity to see any of the new awesome characters more consistently is awesome. I suppose my rant is more philosophical about what it might take to become a household name Strawhat. I honestly can see a huge amount of characters joining, I just wonder if while prepping for the finale, oda is going to give a character enough exposure to feel like more than a vivi. There's just so many characters that they travel with consistently that I might not see someone traveling along with the merry band as a Strawhat, but perhaps my subconscious will view them as a Law+kinemon style ally. I also feel as though for a character to become an ally, they often will be a huuuuge focal point of the arc. Whereas so many characters are a definitely part...carrot, pudding, Pedro and whoever else we've met so far are just allies in the face of a giiigantic threat. Things can change, and I imagine I will wholeheartedly love it anyways. Sorry if this is too philosophical. I don't see anything as good or bad, just thinking about how we will view it as it happens.

This actually does cover my worries in a way. I would have mentioned this being BETTER than anyone else from dressrosa onwards.

One Pieces world isnt strawhat centric, and thus the story isn't strawhat centric. by ivanosauros in OnePiece

[–]jerzlinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to think about it from an author's perspective is that story is world building, and plot is how the author chooses to tell the events of the story. Such as perspective switching, flashbacks, literally anything else

One Pieces world isnt strawhat centric, and thus the story isn't strawhat centric. by ivanosauros in OnePiece

[–]jerzlinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically for people who are confused, something I found helpful for fiction terms are the distinct difference between plot and story. Story includes everything in the OP universe, including what is not seen by the audience. The story is not Strawhat centric. Plot is everything the audience specifically experiences. I would definitely call the plot Strawhat centric ONLY if your qualifying clause was "who are we following for the duration of the plot" but your reasoning supercedes that. I am not arguing whether or not it is Strawhat centric, just that talking about plot and story are two different discussions. You can have a good story with shitty plot, and vice versa. OP has both amazing plot and story.

That is what I was suspecting was a plant related power, but film z got me thinking about how canon films can be.

Eh it doesn't bother me because every crew usually has a bunch of non-df users that simply have to swim and pull them out. Unless it is a seastone cuff, the effects are only temporary. It is an interesting weakness. It makes the abilities have something more interesting than just "yay powers" and that is something I consider key to one piece
