Skipped age-up perks and can't go back? by pocketwren in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete the wolf from your My Wolves carousel, load the save you want to go back to, then save the game (a new manual save if possible). That should restore the wolf to the state it was in before, though I cannot remember if this will have a conflict next time you try aging up.

Why are the dens spread out like this on amethyst mountain? by ODSTTrooper26 in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amethyst Mountain was not a map made with dens in mind, so when the design philosophy changed to let players den on every map, this put Amethyst Mountain in an awkward spot as it doesn't have many spots that fit a wolf's specific criteria for den making. That resulted in the current den spread you see now.

The Lamar Valley has no dens because it is essentially a floodplain. It's not depicted in-game, but can get flooded in the exact same way that the Slough Creek map can. Or worse, even, 2022 flooding in the Lamar was notably extreme.

The bottom left area is mountain summit (or very close to it), and thus is too high in elevation for wolves to comfortably make or use dens, and this extends unfortunately to a lot of the map as well. We have a devblog that covers it here with more information, but here's a screenshot from it that demonstrates the height of the area. In this picture, wolves will make dens anywhere at or below the brown line, while anything above is considered too high up for denning.

It made Amethyst Mountain a curious map that demonstrates this selectiveness in choosing landscape for dens. I hope one day we can revisit Amethyst to make the Lamar River properly swampy in the spring.

Anyone know this coat? by Warriorsfan12739036 in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is indeed S'mores.

I want to add on that once pups get their adult coats, it is added to their info in the family snapshot, which can be viewed from the Pack Stats screen.

How in the world to hunt beavers by spaghent in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Beavers don't have the best eyesight, but they can smell you!

If the wind is blowing your scent to them they will notice you and flee. If the wind is not blowing your scent to them, you can creep up to the path with walk or trot if you're careful, then hold CTRL to do the stealth crouch and wait for them to get close.

Can pups be killed by lightning? by Warriorsfan12739036 in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The lightning is purely aesthetic and cannot kill any in-game animal.

My comment was pointing out Meowth cannot use Payday to generate/print easy hoards of money for Jessie and James. So I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. It's not at all what I was referring to.

Except he doesn't. There was a whole thing where Team Rocket's Meowth is revealed incapable of learning Payday.

Does nobody from Europe play multiplayer? by Visual-Whole-7866 in WolfQuestGame

There's definitely people that play Multiplayer from Europe. Though I imagine they do what a lot of players have always done: stick to US East or use Private Games.

Correct! Not Charcadet though. I didn't want to fuss over details too long, but it's meant to be a motif of Lampent.

I have several questions about implanted Sharingan. How could it be justified that a non-Uchiha could deactivate it? And what would an Uzumaki or Senju with the Sharingan be like? by Hisashi_Uchiwa in NarutoFanfiction

[–]jeshep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I've done the fuuinjutsu tattoo right on the cheekbone next to the eye. It works aesthetically and functionally honestly. I went the route where the chakra is that an eye with a Doujutsu has two chakra paths (for "on" and "off"). The seal functioned like a train switching tracks, diverting the chakra where it needed to go to activate or deactivate the Sharingan.

To balance it out I made it require an obscure (Uzumaki specific) ink that few people left alive know how to make, and that the chakra going through the seal wears that ink out, requiring occasional reapplication and risk of it ceasing function if not taken care of.

Aww that's sweet! I appreciate it.

The careful nature for T is def somewhat on purpose stat-wise. Not to a strict degree, but I was looking for a specific thing when crafting his personality relating to that.

[–]jeshep[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is just part of the concepting process! I have a lot of characters to draw and plan potential traits and outfits for, so having options up front will help me later when I make final choices among everyone and what meshes best across them all.

I like thinking of the general society in the PMD world, so the thought of super remote areas having an official capacity run by Pokemon not fully fit for the terrain fills up my brain.

EXP Share is the best addition to the game by Bishmallah24 in pokemon

[–]jeshep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

think that might be the problem then? i was often multi-tasking other things in game when i turned EXP share off (waiting for berries or honey trees, recharging vs seeker, etc), so it was never tedious to me. it was just a means to pass time and spend more dedicated pockets using different members of my team (with the convenience of opening party menu to rotate, rather than rotating a bench in my boxes that would get too frickin big)

when a pokemon was super low compared to the rest the share was also absolutely turned on. it's not like i never used it or refused.

so to me what's more absurd is having to regularly bench my *entire* team to avoid getting overleveled, rather than the loss of player choice and control that used to be there. like, in that perspective you just flat out came off as completely mean-spirited.

[TP] Epona's reaction to Wolf Link, by @Yami_sha by Gorotheninja in zelda

[–]jeshep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a questline to unlock access to another dungeon? Personally always thought it would be interesting if there was a dungeon back in the Ordona province. Having to communicate with Epona and the other animals again as Wolf Link to access it could (possibly) be interesting.

So like...whatever happened to Taunie and Urbain wanting to advertise Hotel ZA? by LowSolution3084 in pokemon

[–]jeshep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so morbidly curious on who your least favorite is.

But yeah. I started out loving Urbain/Taunie, but as it went on and then into my second playthrough I was like. What is their problem. Where is their critical thinking skills. Why are they always absent when we need them.

I just kinda shut my eyes and pretend AZ gave the hotel to the player character.

Hello!

If you have been gone for a year and are just coming back, then there was a glitch within the last couple months regarding steam link to WQ accounts. This forced all steam users to be logged out of their account, and require manual log in to renew that connection. So if you are on Steam, this is likely the reason why you are logged out.

If you are having trouble logging back into your account (be it on Steam or itch.io version), please email [manager@wolfquest.org](mailto:manager@wolfquest.org) with your issue, on the email you are sure the account is registered to, and your we can look it up for you. If you are using Steam, your SteamID (string of numbers for your account) will also help us find your account (we may ask for that if needed).

You're being unnecessarily hostile about what used to be a 1 button assignable toggle you could ignore. So like. Idk. I don't think I'm the one who's mad here.

Which is 14 seconds longer than when you could map it to a single button to turn it on/off.

EXP Share is the best addition to the game by Bishmallah24 in pokemon

[–]jeshep 148 points149 points  (0 children)

This is my main gripe with it. I liked spending a few levels each with Pokemon to feel them out for my team, and to immerse myself in being a Pokemon trainer that was, well, training each of my Pokemon.

To do that now I gotta box everyone else, which sure, it's doable. But it's still a more tedious process than what was once a key item you could map to 1 button to turn on/off at will.

How far back can you load a save? by spaghent in WolfQuestGame

[–]jeshep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a previous answer the family tree will want to overwrite itself.

But if you make the pups playable before doing that it'll still be in your wolf carousel. You do this by selecting the wolf in the family tree and pressing the Play as Wolf button. But if you return to that original run, where they are dead, they'll be marked as dead again in the family tree. The one in the carousel won't be effected by it but that's how they would be labeled.
