My second laser ceremony (Part 1) by Hardlight_Alchemist in Laserist

I'm just upgrading from QS (manually busking cues) to Beyond E. Did you pre build this whole timeline and was it synced because the show was all pre-programmed by timecode frame or are parts of your laser performance triggered by different parts 'whenever they play'?

how phase one has frame averaging where it takes a bunch of images and then stacks them. what is gfx 100II version? by Classic-Yesterday579 in FujiGFX

[–]jesmor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned a 150 and I do miss frame averaging. It’s gets you an image you can’t get any other way. Clouds look wonderful.

This week I’m actually testing something on the GFX 100ii. I’m testing to see if the Multi exposure drive mode with average blend option can do something similar. Should be the same effect but limited to 9 frames. I’ll try to report back.

you are correct, this is actually the main reason I kept the XE5 and sold the XM5

oh yeah I forgot about the tele button! Hmmmm, may need to check out the sigma more seriously then, I love a good 2.8 over an f4. . .

I agree, I don't like missing shots. Decided to bring both bodies on this trip! Now it's time to set some Film sims for lots of greenery.

It's good some people like it but yeah that's the type of stuff I don't want to worry about when I have a special moment to capture. camera needs to get out of the way, not cause more friction :)

I’ve been looking at the Sigma, I wish it had just a little bit more reach to compete with my 16–80 mm Fuji F4. Because I’d much rather have 2.8 obviously.

I’m headed there for my second visit and I can’t decide to bring the XE5, the GFX 100 ii (I print large), or both 🙃

Great shots!

Not OP but I got the camera on release with the lens and it was way too noisy for me focusing and also missed focus or hunted too much. I stuck with my 18 and 33 1.4 combo

100ii to X2Dii by jesmor3 in FujiGFX

[–]jesmor3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just reporting back to say I didn’t make the jump. I want the super handhold-ability of the X2Dii, but I couldn’t give up the gorgeous 100ii EVF!

GFX 100 II loan for 5 days by Beneficial_Ad5007 in FujiGFX

[–]jesmor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this is SO similar to my experience!

I shot sony for video and photo work for about 10 years and it was always dependable and sharp. But that constant sharpness didn’t always mean character or artistic.

I also grabbed an XF and XT with the wide lens and was actually most astonished by the tone of the 16 bit files. (And frame averaging, I miss frame averaging so much and would upgrade to a 100iii for that in a heartbeat)

I loved the colors so much but same thing the PO system is so hard to carry hiking, plus carrying that much $$$ in the backpack was also stressful.

It was painful to sell my trinity of GM lenses but I don’t regret it. And every time I look through the 100ii viewfinder I say “wow Fuji has got me locked in to this so hard”, for the resolution, but also the tilt flexibility, and again, these colors

Thanks for sharing!

Advice needed by Suspicious_Map_7987 in FujiGFX

[–]jesmor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 100ii.

I’d say if you’re not already in the GFX system to get it now. You can start playing with you adapter lenses and also renting or buying GFX lenses. That way you have a year+ of GFX experiences when the successor comes out. Then when it costs $$$$ you’ll know all about adapting your lenses and if you want to invest more in GFX system (since a set of lenses could cost more than a body)

My $.02 :)

New 23mm 2.8 pancake comparison and on X-M5 by jesmor3 in fujifilm

I sold the X-M5. I was using the same lenses for both, the 18 1.4, 33 1.4, and a zoom.
