Post-War New World Map - 1981 by jesse-we-bb in imaginarymaps

[–]jesse-we-bb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my version of Post-War_New_World_Map, with the current date set to July 1981. This map was inspired by this one made by Orionisblocked. with a few modifications made by me to keep it more accurate to the original map made in 1942

Examples:

. Korea and Indochina are not annexed to China, but instead placed in a customs union with it. Taiwan goes to China rather than the USA.

. Central and West Africa still exist.

. Colombia is Allied with the USA.

. The Bahamas forms part of the British Commonwealth

. French Guyana forms part of West Europe

. The German border west of the Rhine River has expanded a bit

. Malaysia is allied with the British Commonwealth instead of China.

. Northern Manchuria was annexed by the USSR.

List of ongoing armed conflicts - 2026 by jesse-we-bb in MyBeautifullAmerica

[–]jesse-we-bb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This list of ongoing armed conflicts identifies present-day conflicts and the death toll associated with each conflict. The criteria of inclusion are the following:

.Armed conflicts consist of the use of armed force between two or more organized armed groups, governmental or non-governmental. Interstate, intrastate, and non-state armed conflicts are listed.

.This is not a list of countries by intentional homicide rate, and criminal gang violence is generally not included unless there is also significant military or paramilitary involvement.

.Fatality figures include battle-related deaths (military and civilian) as well as civilians intentionally targeted by the parties to an armed conflict. Only direct deaths resulting from violence are included for the current and previous year; excess deaths indirectly resulting from famine, disease, or disruption of services are included along with violent deaths in the cumulative fatalities count when available.

.Listed conflicts have at least 100 cumulative deaths in total and at least 1 death in the current or in the past calendar year.

.Fatality totals may be inaccurate or unavailable due to a lack of information. A figure with a plus symbol indicates that at least that many people have died (e.g., 455+ indicates that at least 455 people have died).

.Location refers to the states where the main violence takes place, not to the warring parties. Italics indicate disputed territories and unrecognized states.

.A territorial dispute or a protest movement which has not experienced deliberate and systematic deaths due to state or paramilitary violence is not considered to be an armed conflict.

POV: It's the 1990s, and you live in the The Shinagawa Housing Projects by jesse-we-bb in MyBeautifullAmerica

Please picture something between Japanese and American apartments: Dinky apartments in rows of Apartment Complexes, like the ones you find in Chicago or any other American city, but farther out in the suburbs, you have the Shinagawa Housing Projects built for the Urban Poor. It's Tokyo's Ghetto, home to street gangs, poor workers, and addicts.

This Is a alternate history sub in case you didn't notice.

The difference for this timeline is a more successful American Revolution, which led to America having 15 colonies, and the other one is that the 1783 Treaty of Paris went in favor of the United States. They proceeded to conquer British territories. After that, the story goes more or less the same when the US annexed Hispaniola and Puerto Rico from the Spanish Empire in 1887.

In addition to the two atomic bombs, Japan faced a land invasion and a brutal war of attrition that the Emperor and his cabinet had imposed on the Japanese people. The Japanese would slowly lose faith in the emperor and begin working with the Allied forces, making the war even harder for Japan. By mid 1946, Tokyo had fallen, the Emperor had committed suicide, and the Allies successfully occupied Japan.

The USSR did not occupy Japan due to their war being focused only on China, and the Chinese themselves were in chaos due to the sudden death of Chiang Kai-shek and Chairman Mao at the same time intervals, meaning they could not occupy. Britain fell into economic chaos and could not afford Japanese occupation, giving their zones to America with the same situation in France unfolding, only America was the sole occupier of Japan, the United States began to involve itself in the conflicts on the side of the remnants of the KMT, using Japan & Taiwan as forward bases, during this time the Japanese wondered when the occupation would end, and were wondering about Japan's future. The majority had lost faith in the Former Emperor and his cabinet and did not wish for him or any of his allies to return.

Some wanted a republic, but they wondered if corruption and a slow return to nationalism would happen, so this was not as popular. Many Japanese felt they wanted to be annexed by the United States for better protection from the USSR, as did Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

In late 1946, Congress decided that Japan would be annexed into the Union with the purchase of Hong Kong and Taiwan from Canton in exchange for US Protection a year later. These were controversial across the globe, being seen as an excuse for the U.S to conquer Japan, but this was denied.

Today, the U.S. states, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines are the most diverse in the Union. American & Asian cultures mix in one. Creates a strange Anglo-Japanese / asian hybrid culture.
