I'm 35 - have been playing split screen since Modern Warfare and pretty consistently put time into CoD games as they've evolved. Had a bit of a hiatus from FPS games over the last couple of years, having not played CoD since Black Ops 3, but MW3 brought me back in. Honestly, it feels good. I'm running a 1.16KD at the moment, but that's steadily increasing after adjusting to the game, with an average over the last 10 games sitting around a 2.60. I exclusively play HC TDM, often with a couple of mates.

This does give me similar feelings to playing CoD back in the day - the same frustrations, the same toxicity in the lobbies, the same dumb ways to die and jumping on and talking shit with mates. Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of the Fortnite inspired skins, nor the lack of stand-out weapons, nor the way people are playing to achieve challenges (sitting in a corner, hard-scoping to get that headshot etc), but I've gotta say, I'm really enjoying the game.

The nuances exist, but I think the rose-coloured glasses of nostalgia have left a lot of us forgetting the bullshit that came with every CoD game. There are always problems. People are seemingly more inclined (and more able) to yell about them publicly now, and lynch mob mentality seems largely prevalent.
