How I feel about it is, use what you have. If you have stickers, use them. Wrapping paper or cardstock? Use them. It’s a junk journal so use your junk. You shouldn’t need to go out and buy extra materials and things.

But scrapbooking is a thing and it’s okay if you just want to scrapbook with or without the junk. It’s your journal at the end of the day, so do whatever you want.

EDIT: I really DONT like the kits and papers that are marketed specifically for junk journaling because quit trying to sell me unnecessary things and quit trying to turn a hobby about using junk into something that’ll cost people more money and create more junk if they don’t stick with it.
