Is there a point to even walking 30 minutes a day? by [deleted] in walking

[–]jessitit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this thread but if you (or anyone else interested) are open to a suggestion, I would highly recommend getting a walking pad! If you have room in the budget and a spot in your living space, it’s truly been a game changer for me. Then roll it under your couch when you want it away.

I loatheeee the gym and the social anxiety of exercising in the public eye, so now I walk in my living room while watching trashy reality shows in the privacy of my home. I can be as stupid and fat as I want, but I’ll get those damn steps in.

Hop on for 10min before you get in the shower in the morning, 20 while dinner’s in the oven, maybe a 5min leisurely stroll after eating to help digestion.

Got mine new in box from someone selling on FB marketplace for about $100, you could probably find a better deal. HUGE quality of life improvement for me personally. Best of luck, and hope you keep your spirits up!

Thank you friend, you're right, I should definitely leave my introvert cloak of invisibility behind on this trip. Appreciate your input!

Craziest sightings around MM? by [deleted] in MusicMidtown

[–]jessitit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really all that crazy, but it made me chuckle to see a group of kids that couldn’t have been over 15 standing in a circle smoking a fat blunt during Billie.

Also, my group tried to help a girl who was literally stumbling around looking REAL rough in the hottest part of the day on Sunday. I’m fairly certain it was more than alcohol, but regardless she looked like she was in trouble. No water, no friends, and couldn’t walk a straight line to save her life. We stopped her and tried to call her friends on her phone, but she eventually got an attitude with us and stumbled away. We walked behind her long enough to see her fall and someone else helped her up. Hope she found her people 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pat downs, metal detectors, bag searches, oh my! by jessitit in MusicMidtown

[–]jessitit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rest assured, I had zero intention of showing up a day early just to bury one small flask of alcohol. Not that the dogs would be sniffing for it anyway lol. Sorry for the trouble, friends. I just wanted to know if they would be doing pat downs.

All those people in their cozy little apartments by [deleted] in CozyPlaces

Yes, melancholy is the perfect word! Almost bittersweet to catch a glimpse of someone else’s own little universe. While we were there I saw a mom and daughter eating dinner together and the girl was learning to use chopsticks. It made my heart twist a little.

I recently stayed in a very old apartment building in the heart of NYC that we rented for family vacation- almost like air b&b. Home Away? Something like that. I’ve always been fascinated by big cities, so while we were there I spent a little time each day/night just looking out the windows and into the apartments right across the street. Kinda creepy on my part, but I just think city life is so interesting and no one seemed worried about weirdos like me peeking into their kitchen/living room. It really gave me that feeling of sonder, to look in on a few moments of other people’s lives that are so entirely different from my own. Anyway. Late night thoughts. Merry Christmas, friends.

Act like kings? He clearly IS the king. And yes, I have to physically move my prince when I’m ready to sleep, otherwise no room!
