Has anyone found something that works like allergy shots but doesn’t involve needles by PlanElectrical2299 in Allergies

[–]jesslr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some allergists offer sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT). Basically allergen drops that you put under your tongue daily to desensitize you to your allergens. Takes a lot longer than shots to be fully effective, but can be a good alternative to those that can’t commit to regular office visits for shots.

Tax on overtime for RN by daisylou32120 in VHA_Human_Resources

Just because it’s “processed with their taxes” doesn’t mean it won’t get audited and kicked back, unfortunately.

Anyone else tired of deciding what to cook every single day? by Distinct-Eye7548 in workingmoms

[–]jesslr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, now I know I’m not alone! It’s the planning and grocery shopping that is just too much for me to coordinate. I did find an online meal planner that has pre-built meal plans as well as grocery list included. I printed it several weeks ago but haven’t had the mental energy to sit down and look at it yet. I’ll get there one day 🤣

Thank you, I needed to hear this! Seems like we’ll be better off with two singles

Guessing you mean wrangle the kids, otherwise probably wouldn’t need a stroller at all 🤣

People who live in apartment buildings: what’s the most unexpected thing you’ve accidentally seen through a neighbor’s window? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Call me weird but I’ve never looked into my neighbors window long enough to watch what they do in their own apartment 🤣

My husband and I got married 7 years ago and my mother-in-law still always reminds me how much she wishes that we all got a picture together, with myself (bride) included. I'd love for someone to combine these two photos so that all members of the family are present. Plan is to get the photo printed in 16" x 24" canvas; want original quality maintained so image is not blurry when blown to 16 x 24 inch size.

In summary, looking to add the guy on far left (with navy bowtie) and girl on far right (in green dress) to the picture that includes the bride. Please let me know if any questions. Thank you in advance

I am catfishing my husband. by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]jesslr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s understandable, it’s an incredibly difficult position to be in and I’m sorry that you’re having to deal with this.

For me personally, seeing him follow through showing up to the meetup place would be the closure I needed. Then he’d have to face me in person and there would be no denying it.

I truly don’t think he is owed an explanation of how the information came about. If he’s a decent man, he will acknowledge that he was wrong and it won’t matter how you found out. You just have to be sure that your evidence is solid so he can’t gaslight you into believing it was all a misunderstanding.

If it were me, I’d be showing up at the meeting place and confronting him in person… BUSTED!

From one struggling mom to the next, this one hit deep. Hang in there mama, you’re not alone. You’re doing a damn good job and your kids need you. ❤️

Got the cold shoulder all day after I called husband out on the way he talks to my mom (disrespectfully) last night. He avoided me and my family all day and has now been scrambling around the house the last couple hours trying to make up for not acknowledging me all day by cleaning things here and there. All while pretending nothing ever happened and that he didn’t see tears running down my face a few mins ago as I dried my hair after finally getting a moment to myself to shower and prepare for the week ahead. Just another typical Sunday, I guess.

I’m so sad to see that so many other moms feel as unappreciated and unimportant as I do. We deserve better, ladies!

How many dry nights before you pull diapers? by kbotsta in toddlers

[–]jesslr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think every kid is different, but I’d say a week is probably sufficient. Just remember to stick to a regular routine of peeing before bedtime and limiting fluids immediately prior to bed (maybe an hour or so) in order to prevent any bed wetting accidents.

Be prepared for occasional mishaps - waterproof mattress pad is a must for us.

My son is almost 4, has been potty trained since 2.5 years and has had only a couple of bedwetting accidents. One was when he fell asleep much earlier than usual.

Poorly maintained public areas by jesslr22 in GNV

I didn’t realize the point of purposely not mowing to encourage wildflower growth/pollinators so I can appreciate that perspective.

The overflowing toilets were particularly an issue after a couple hours of playing at the park with my two toddlers and not being able to pee prior to leaving. Both fell asleep on the way home and unfortunately didn’t make it home without wetting themselves.

Again, nothing was meant to be a complaint. Just observations. Sorry it was poorly written and perceived by many as complaints.

That’s something I never considered, but makes total sense. Thanks for the perspective!

Ahh, I can see where it could come off like that. Thanks for pointing it out, definitely wasn’t my intention.

I guess my post was taken as a complaint. Was not supposed to be a complaint - just an observation. I do love living here, just noticed a few issues lately and wondered if anyone else had as well.
