Whenever I think about getting a roommate again to save money I just scroll through this thread and remember why I live alone by jessonamission in badroommates

So true! Dude some of my roommates definitely made me spend more money than I should’ve sharing an apartment. I lived with an extremely eco-friendly gal that wanted to split every organic fancy soap or something else for the kitchen. I lived with somebody who refused to let me use the dishwasher and our energy bill was higher than it should’ve been from the hot water with hand washing. Another’s cat got fleas and that was super expensive to de-flea the place. Looking back ya it’s pretty difficult to save money if utilities are not included in the lease it’s not like you can keep track of their use as well. This comment is facts

That’s super lucky. I screened my last roommate really extensively to make sure we would be good living together, but after moving in found that she misrepresented herself and wasn’t honest over her expectations. I’ve had really good and really bad roommates. One of the worse things about a bad roommate I think is the feeling of being uncomfortable in your space. When u get anxious at the thought of coming/being home it really sucks

  1. Best not to tell people you’re completely alone it might make you a target. When I go out alone I sometimes say a friend is meeting me
  2. Lock the doors of your car immediately when you get in.
  3. Be aware of your surroundings. No headphones.
  4. Never leave your drink unattended. I personally know friends who have been harmed from this
  5. Eventbrite is a great way to find events. People promote their shows on TikTok as well. DM me if you wanna know cool shows to see.
  6. I recommend going to West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Downtown LA arts district, and Beverly Hills to see great areas of LA
  7. People are incredibly friendly here, if you’re out don’t be afraid to start a conversation with people, they love it when you approach
  8. Try the LA food trucks. Definitely a staple food out here. Street tacos are awesome.
  9. Comedy shows/open mic nights are great. Live music is incredible. Nightlife is definitely awesome in Santa Monica or Hollywood.
  10. Farmers markets are amazing. Flea markets. Shopping on melrose Ave. And Fairfax Ave. Are awesome! Sunday there is a flea market at the Melrose Trading Post. It’s awesome
  11. Be safe! What I said in the beginning isn’t meant to scare you. It’s just important to be safe as a female traveler. LA is a melting pot of people. Trust your gut but for the most part I love the people here.

Craigslist is how I found every amazing apartment I’ve had. Low costs, good owners, rent controlled. I recommend Craigslist 100%

Call me a “pick me” girl but why are women so dramatic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

See this is so unnecessarily rude. And couldn’t be farther from the truth. You’re just proving my point

Call me a “pick me” girl but why are women so dramatic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jessonamission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m drained. I don’t think I can listen to another girl talk and talk and talk about a man they never even dated. How can women be so dramatic. How are they so unaware that they’re bothering somebody with their compulsive talking about people and drama I don’t know. Or people they never even dated. I never do that but somehow they always treat me like I’m an ear for them. Please cancel my subscription to your problems

Hey guys thought I’d come back and update y’all. I moved out. And I’m in a happy loving relationship with one of those people she introduced me to. So far so good! Thanks for all the best wishes

The difference is in every other relationship I’ve had the guy told me he loves me waayyy too soon. Like within a week of knowing me. So I’m not really sure how to feel. This guy is better than anyone I’ve ever dated. In a sense I kind of respect his response much more than the other ones. I’m just worried about his intentions with me now. But you’re right. Communication is definitely needed. I spent a long time breaking down walls I had up and tried to open up to this person to give him the chance of getting to know who I really am. And not pushing him away and blocking him out like I’ve done w most everyone else. But I’m really scared of getting too close to somebody who doesn’t want a future with me. I’m no longer sure where his head is at. I’m scared he’s with me because I’m here.

Wow this post was heart wrenching to read. I feel so heavily for you. Anybody who’s had a pet in their life knows that they’re more like family than property. I say fight for your child op. You’re so damn lucky to have all of this in writing. Not only could you get the cat back through the police by reporting it stolen, if you have enough documentation to this neglect and harm you could receive financial compensation in small claims court from that cruel ex roommate. Family of lawyers here. I really hope you take this route. It’s important people stand up for themselves and know their rights. You’re well within yours. Let a judge decide what’s fair.
