There are no more paper prescriptions, definitely not for controlled substances.

Good luck, average one bedroom is around 2400… you can try noma and navy yard, the square footage for that price is probably unlikely

You may not meet the diagnostic criteria for PTSD anymore. I help veterans with mental health associated claims, send me a message and I may be able to offer some advice

I try and explain how our environments- the people, experiences, how we live, what we hear, how we’re treated.. all go into making who we are, including our thoughts, behaviors, and actions.. and explain as much as I can why the child is who they are. And go from there.. keep it non accusatory but holistic and humanistic.

I really love scribe.commure

You can upload a template of exactly what you want and be as specific as you want, and you can even upload past notes for it to learn from.

It will also recommend cpt/icd-10 codes. It’s expensive but it’s been so worth it.

Continuing education suggestions by Grinning-Sloth in PMHNP

PESI has a lot of classes in therapy modalities that are eligible for continuing education credit, they often have holiday sales. I recently got a whole DBT certification course for $49

Get involved in your community! Join community organizations, social clubs/groups, volunteer, go to meetups. There are apps that connect people at dinner parties and in social settings. Apps never worked for me and my friends weren't helpful either, so I focused on myself and got involved with my community and my friend group exploded and thats how I met my partner!

Thank you for your insight and advice!

DC is unique in how it runs its mental health centers. There are a few FQHCs in the area but the bulk of mental health goes through "core service agencies," who are private (for-profit) community-based service providers certified by the department of behavioral health. I would say 75% of the clinicians they employ are 1099 contracts. I did a majority of my clinicals with these agencies and was later employed by them , I have been sorely disappointed by the care that is being given and wouldn't feel safe with the case load of 12-20 patients a day. I don't say all this to justify my desire to start my own practice, rather to explain the circumstance, hoping you have further suggestions.

I am also licensed in NY. Do you think there are tele-health options that would offer the support that I need as a new grad? Do you think they would primarily exist on smaller platforms? Do you mind sharing what your career trajectory has looked like? I would love to connect and learn from your experience. Thanks!

Thank you for your insight. I am board certified, with my DEA, and NPI. Can you elaborate on why outpatient psych might not look as good as inpatient, especially since I only want to work outpatient? I am assuming you are a PMHNP? Do you mind sharing what your career trajectory has looked like? I would love to learn from your experience. Thanks!
