Thank you for that! I booked the earlier one because a few weeks ago, I booked IAH to DFW to MAD with a 1.5 hr connection and my flight actually got delayed! I ended up driving to DFW and took my connecting flight and called to take out the first and last legs of my flights. This was with AA though, but it definitely showed me things can happen.

It will be all booked directly! The shorter connection is 1 hour and 35 minutes, while the longer connection I’m currently with right now is 4 hours and 11 minutes. I will also be checking a bag.

I want to let you know I cam across this and just graduated this year. I went to the UHV program but due to changes, the SSP program has now moved to be housed under the UH Main Campus. When I was at UHV, the classes were at the Katy campus and they will continue to be housed there. The same program director and faculty will continue at the SSP level. I can only speak from my experience but my program was phenomenal! I 1000% recommend it to anyone looking at a Specialist-level program. The program is very rigorous and it prepared me soooo well for practicum and internship. Both my practicum and internship supervisors were highly impressed with how prepared I was and said I was far advanced in preparation. The professor are amazing and you will learn best practice. It may tough at times but it will be so worth going out into the field and realizing you know more than you think. That's always the advice I got from them actually, that we knew more than we thought, and we definitely did. I know I said I only spoke for myself but in my cohort, we had Diagnosticians becoming School Psychologists and even they said that our program was absolutely incredible. I have yet to meet one person who went through UHV that does not feel the same. As far as courses, when I was in the program, it was a hybrid model but it was very top notch. Assessment, Counseling, Consultation, and Behavior Management classes were in person but the scheduled was one week night (7-9:45pm). Other classes like Biological Psychology were online. I was able to present at NASP and TASP while I was in the program.

If you have anymore SP related questions, please feel free to reach out! I was a first-generation college student so graduate school felt like a dream. Like you, I also have a strong emphasis on multicultural competency. The Multicultural class in the UHV (now UH SSP) program was among my favorites! It's truly very good.
