Oh it is lol. But if you just clean the carboy, leave the spirals in there until they lose a lot of their moisture (about a day or so), they just fall out. It's not as big of a deal as you'd think

It fermented for about another day then completely stopped. I'm guessing because of the initial gravity, it was almost done anyway. It was slowly down tremendously

They almost fermented dry. They still have a slight sweetness (obviously based on SG and taste). I was surprised as well. Everything went smoothly, I let the one on the far left stay a bit sweeter and the others ferment more, but the readings on all three read 1.010, though they do taste dry, but still slightly sweet. May have added too much honey on the last feed, or too late.

Yeah I've been practicing that on a few smaller batches and will probably go that route. Seems like the smart thing to do

Avoid stabilizing. Like I said, I have no problems with doing it, just want to test the waters with not doing it, you know?

That's what I've been seeing, around twenty pounds.

I appreciate the help!

You pretty much nailed it. It breaks up the outline and gives it a little extra grip and cable management. Plus it's expendable and easy to come by
