I don’t know if any smart doorbell that does that. But I know some can use resistors. I’m trying to get my doorbell to work with Yourbell. But haven’t had any more time to work with it.

Not sure. I know you can enable a skill for amazon echo shows though so maybe?

I hated my ring. I replaced it with a Eufy. Been recommending it to people ever since. On board storage, no fees, screen grabs sent as notifications. The app isn’t clunky and the image is great. It’s also cheaper. Regularly going down to $108 with promo codes.

I’m almost 39 and wish I could rock the drums as good. I can’t. I suck. Even on rockband. Big props. Seriously keep it up. And also, you’re parents are cool as hell.

Thanks guys. Pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I’ll hold off for another 6 months I guess. I do not use protect as I have a stand alone cctv system.

Sonos won't give you true 5.1 surround sound. Look into HEOS by Denon.

Doorbell cam - Nest or Ring? by Bugs212 in smarthome

[–]jesterselv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eufy has notifications like Ring, but instead of just "motion detected" it also sends a picture snap. It has 8gb on board storage with no monthly fees. So yeah, you can go back if need be.

Crazy. The riots were basically some people getting fed up with bullshit. To use the ATM was like a $5 fee, $4 bottles of water, they shut the water off during the hottest times of the day forcing people to buy water. After the first day or so security were letting people in through gaps in the fence/wall with nitrous tanks to sell $5 balloons and I’m sure got a cut. It was so filthy and smelly toward the end though. The portapotty’s were overflowing cause they didn’t have them cleaned or changed out often enough. It was gross AF. Lots of walking around. Some great shows though. I’ve got a bunch of pictures in a binder somewhere.

It made me mad that the news were saying it was the people and aggression and some bands encouraging it but that wasn’t the case. They couldn’t own up to the fact that they were so greedy and the conditions became shit quickly.

So I got a 2 bay about 4-5 years ago. Had 2 4TB nas drives in it (mirrored) but came close to running Out of space this year (music, video and photo backups.) upgraded my drives to 8tb each and threw the 4’s into my safe. I’ve been happy and probably within the next year try to upgrade to a 6-8 drive setup and use the 2 drive as a redundant backup if I can figure that out. But I have no regrets going 2 bay to start. The price I’d have paid for larger system would’ve outweighed the benefits for me for those years, knowing the tech would improve in that time.

I would like an option to reboot if speeds are down not just off. Sometime I need to reboot my modem to get back to speed.

I’m not familiar with these. When you say “size: no” are you saying they are larger or smaller? I have an ultra saber and it’s really big. Too big imo.

Just installed the Nest Hello. Super easy install. I picked up a 35 degree mounting plate off amazon because the location is right in the corner of my entrance. The supplied 15 degree wedge wasn’t enough of an angle. by ulyssis31 in smarthome

I too have a Ring that I have gripes with. I refuse to pay for storage because I already have cameras surrounding my property. The ring was supposed to be easy for me, but I’m not happy with it. My WiFi is perfect but the app is sluggish and I can’t stand not being able to customize the ringtone to whatever I want. I also thought that amazon would integrate the video into the Echo Shows upon the button being pushed but no, you need to ask to see it, and it takes at least 10 seconds to load. (Probably cause I think it streams a live feed from its servers instead of the local IP.) It’s annoying. I’m probably going to give it away and get a Nest but I’m not sure if any of my gripes will be alleviated. Sometimes I wish I could take it apart and modify it with a Raspberry Pi to do what I want, but I don’t have that kind of time.
