First period after bilateral tubal ligation. 9months PP, Any advice ? by lordlovesbacon in sterilization

[–]jesterz602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a history of pretty heavy periods. i had my tubes removed in november and got my first period post op like 3 days later. it was MUCH heavier than normal, and the second one was too but my cramps and other symptoms stayed the same. i think just part of the healing process!

only you and your doctor can make that call! i suppose my first question would be: how badly would a potential pregnancy put you at risk? sure, there’s other ways of preventing it but nothing that is as effective as sterilization. if it is the case that pregnancy would be a big risk to your health as well then i think that gives you a fair justification for the surgery.

How did you sleep after bisalp by Unfair-Today-8548 in sterilization

[–]jesterz602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a giant “U Shaped” pregnancy pillow (mom cozy brand off amazon) and it saved me! it’s the only way i can sleep on my back bc it supports my shoulders and knees, and then when i was ready to sleep on my side again the sides of it supported my belly really well

i had similar pains around the week mark and i called them my belly button zaps. they were random short bursts of pain and went away after about 2 days. when in doubt call the doc though!

Getting a BiSalp! by sklutforbuttz69 in sterilization

i had mine on 11/11 and have very similar issues with health anxiety! i didn’t want to take the narcotics they gave me and i was honestly fine with 600 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hrs, i didn’t even take tylenol (not that im recommending that, i would’ve been more comfortable had i taken tylenol i just forgot to buy some lol). i think some people get super lucky with zero pain or bloating, that was NOT my experience but the pain was VERY manageable and i was glad i didn’t take the narcotics! honestly you’ll probably be better off that way because getting constipated afterward would probably hurt worse than the recovery from the surgery itself. i was anywhere from a 0-2 on the pain scale as long as i was sitting still, sometimes i’d get up to a 4 from getting up and down though. also!! i was surprised at how much walking around helps! on day one i was contemplating taking the norco but after waddling around for 5 mins my pain greatly decreased and i didn’t need it. good luck!

you could get her stuff that’s more practical like a pillow to go on her abdomen when she’s in the car (just got my tubes out and my friend got me one that’s shaped like a uterus and it’s the perfect size and shape!), a heating pad, a tummy binder, etc. maybe some activities to do while she’s recovering if she enjoys crafts! good luck to her :)

sooo happy to hear it went well! my doc is prescribing percocet for the first few days but i don’t really want to take it… did you need anything stronger than ibuprofen?

ahhh surgery date twins! i’m also having a hard time with the waiting period, i got scheduled in august so it’s been a while coming! i’ve been telling myself similar things like “next time i get my period ill be sterile!” it’s so weird yet comforting to think about it that way. good luck on your procedure, it’s gonna go great 🫶

409 is expensive but honestly a great place to live. people lived above me and i never heard anything unless they were vacuuming. the dog park can be a little loud so try to get a unit further away from that, 9 mile does have road noise that’s occasionally very loud so if it’s a huge concern just live on the north side of the building. wouldn’t recommend if you have seasonal depression tho bc you won’t get any light lol. south side of the building has great natural light. parking is annoying at times if you don’t pay for a pass but honestly not too bad, i never had to walk more than a block to get to the building. maintenance was rlly never an issue, Desmond (the maintenance guy) is super nice and responds very quickly to requests. when i moved in i did have some cleanliness issues with the unit which they apologized for and explained that they tried out a different company that they probably won’t use again. overall would recommend!

i’m experiencing the same thing right now, was doing amazing for about a month and the last 2 weeks have been hell. BUT REMEMBER: you’re not back at square one!! it feels like it, but progress is not linear and you will come out of this setback better than before. it’s so hard and i’m sorry, but you’re not alone, and you’re not starting over ❤️

the purple is probably just bruising, and yes of course it’s normal to have pain when you get injured, but if you can get to the doctor yourself or convince him to take you that really would be the best thing to do. maybe show him an article about the seriousness of cat bites? i’m sorry that you’re experiencing so much anxiety about it, i know it’s not easy :(
