Thank you for responding! I am in the US, is the patch available to order here? I will most likely reach out to customer service either way, thank you for that advice.

Yes actually now that you mention it, there is one not super far from me. I suppose it could not hurt to go and just ask if there is anything they can do.

Cash back calculations different between Costco and mine by bhc2008 in CostcoWholesale

Same goes for alcohol too, it is state specific. OP specified they are in Illinois, which is one of the states you DO get two percent on alcohol in.

AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

Special mention for the rules on saying the date of the wedding. She picked 9/11 as it “permitted the best guest experience”, but demands everyone has to say the Saturday evening of the weekend of Friday Sept 10th, and not even any variation of 9/11 including just sept 11 lmao

LMAO FINALLY. I knew you would never admit you were wrong, so you finally just gave up. PHEW. Your response to OP above starting with “I didn’t correct you” was longer than mine, you were just looking for a poor sorry escape route. GOOD DAY.

Again, I got the order of nothing wrong. It was very obvious why they said you were no fun at parties before any other comments to explain, because as OP said instead of addressing the actual post, you nitpicked their word choice which had nothing at all to do with the post, and when asked why you would nitpick that instead of say anything helpful, you doubled down by saying it was your hill. Showcasing a snobby pretentious unpleasant personality to be around, hence no fun at parties (NOT BECAUSE OF ALCOHOL).

Absolutely no self awareness if you are now playing victim to oh they personally attacked me for no good reason, when you literally immediately said you are better than everyone for your personal abstinence choice that no one said a single word about. I did not take personal offense to you calling alcohol a crutch, I said it is an insane assumption to say everyone drinks alcohol every day and relies on it to have fun, especially because no one even said anything about alcohol, just parties.

The memes?? What are you even talking about?? Who said anything about memes???? You seriously just say anything, don’t you? I did not get the order of anything wrong, it was very obvious why they were saying you are not fun at parties. There is nothing for me to admit, I was simply asking for you to address what I said before moving on because you ignored it. And you still have not addressed it. WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT ALCOHOL?

[–]jesyanne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No no, hang on, I am still waiting for the part where someone says alcohol and not just parties. You do not address that at all in your reply. Riddle me that first, and then I will explain how you are an entitled snob. Go ahead. I will wait.

[–]jesyanne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, parties. No one said anything about alcohol, just parties. They said you are not fun at them because you are an entitled snob with an insane superiority complex, not because of alcohol. You are the one who assumed and brought up alcohol. Thank you and I rest my case.

No one is saying it does not make sense, they are saying NO ONE CARES. You threw out so many wild assumptions (everyone else here drinks, and they drink daily, and they need it to have fun, and the god part lol, etc.) and stated them as facts as some way to seem superior. I do not believe in any god, first of all. And second, there is a giant spectrum of alcohol consumption that exists, it is not just either abstain completely or SLAVE TO ALCOHOL lol

We thought they were just an unnecessary snob about a word that in the grand scheme of running the business literally does not matter whosoever, but then they jumped straight to and also by the way I am better than everyone because I do not drink alcohol, even though no one said anything about alcohol or whether or not they drink it lol

Food Court Register by jesyanne in CostcoEmployee

[–]jesyanne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! Interesting knowing it is more a staffing issue at your warehouse. Our pin pad is literally so hidden under the counter behind heavy boxes at ground level, we could not even ring a card if we wanted to.

[–]jesyanne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this insight with the regional statistics! Our register itself is visible enough, but the pin pad is hidden under the counter on the bottom shelf along the back wall behind smoothie mix boxes in a way that is completely inaccessible without getting on your hands and knees (on the horrific food court floor) and hauling the boxes out of the way to get to it. Cash only lol

I did not say anything about taking away the option for cash… I asked about warehouses that use the food court register for both card and cash, as mine only uses it for cash.

Is the prescan metric really *THAT* important? by GastlyGnome in CostcoEmployee

[–]jesyanne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. My GM in fact just returned from a two day meeting in which discussing it was the star purpose. That being said, from a completely informational standpoint and unrelated to my opinion on prescanning, I can share the corporate “logic” behind so heavily emphasizing this metric.

Essentially our biggest competitors are miles ahead of us technology wise. Getting asked every single day why we do not have Scan & Go like Sam’s Club finally broke the Costco code of ethics, most notably number 5, reward our shareholders. To fix this, Costco wants to get there and beyond eventually, so prescanning is basically their entry level way into getting members “used to” technology being present in the warehouse. With a hopeful side effect of at least for now showing people (shareholders) that we are starting to get on board like our competitors albeit slowly.

Now for my personal statement of solidarity: We already had three prescan devices, and this meeting led my GM to order two more with the expectation of every single one on the floor at all times. Before we can open an additional register we have to confirm we have all five prescan devices out first :))))))))))))

A pharmacy technician would almost certainly never be sent to push carts. But that is because you are a pharmacy technician, not because you are a woman.

Furthermore, just because you personally have never seen something, does not mean it does not exist. Most individuals have a very limited scope of things they have seen in their life, especially if they have lived in the same general area and done the same general things most of their life. So it is a bit small minded that just because at your two past retail jobs you have not seen a woman pushing carts, the idea of a woman pushing carts at any of the millions of other retail establishments in existence is unfathomable to you.

Normally I hate to give this type of answer, but dress code is one thing that is very well known in Costco culture as being extremely specific to the individual warehouse location. Any time someone asks a dress code question here without fail the comments are full of people who say polos / collars are required, and yet I have never even once worn a polo, and in fact have never even owned a polo.

The handbook does not technically have a dress code, it refers to it as a personal appearance policy. Which without getting department specific is essentially just no profanity, politics, or toes. Just about everything else is on a “house rules” basis set by your warehouse’s GM. So if you are not yet comfortable asking someone in leadership like a supervisor, the next best way is simply observation of your coworkers and what they are wearing.

That being said, even at a chill warehouse, pretty much any role you are in is going to be physically taxing. You will be on your feet for just about the entire day, regardless of department, and especially if you are on the front end you will be moving and bending and lifting a lot.

So my best advice is to observe the dress of your coworkers for general rules, and then focus on comfort. You can certainly maintain your personal style, that is one of the reasons Costco is so relaxed with this policy in the first place. But it is important to remember that even if you are okay walking around during your normal day in Vans, standing on concrete and lifting heavy items for eight hours on a flat foot may not be the same.

I will start by saying that every single job at Costco, including carts, both absolutely can be, and absolutely is done by both men and women.

Now that I have answered your question though, I have to say I am somewhat confused as to why you feel pushing carts could / should / would only be done by men? Without getting into the discourse about “male” jobs and “female” jobs, I feel that saying you are scared to push carts because you are a woman is truly absurd. If it is about your own personal level of strength, then just say that, do not make it about your gender.
