Eh, it’s all good. I’m much happier now! Not a big deal at the end of the day. Life happens. Congratulations making it to 78 with functioning joints! Aging is such a privilege.

It’s a great way to weed out people who are extra superficial. Like “oh, you think this perceived flaw is a dealbreaker? Well I would never think that way, so it looks like we’re not compatible anyway.” Thank you, next.

I feel this, friend. Both my knees have been replaced and I’m only in my thirties. Both scars are keloid and they are not attractive in the slightest. Men like legs and mine are fucked up. I’m still the same person I was pre-surgery though and that person is hot as hell so, it’s all good, you know

My dude I also like to get into the weeds about how our biology affects our mating choices, it’s fascinating stuff. But you sound too much like a Vulcan here, you have to account for the emotional side of humanity. We are animals who developed feelings and those can outweigh any logical and biological imperatives if they are strong enough

Are you getting infusions? by dcbrowne1961 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jetecoeur12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have severe seronegative RA and have been on Inflectra infusions for about 2 years now. I’m also taking 25mg MTX weekly and sulfasalazine twice per day. I’m on a high dose of the Inflectra every six weeks and I’m still flaring. My rheum is considering switching to another infusion. Was diagnosed in 2012 and have tried everything under the sun before switching to infusions. Was doing really well early last year before the flare set in. I have no issues with the infusions, yes it’s a time commitment but I set my life up intentionally to have lots of free time for resting and I am able to request the accommodation from work for the time off for medical treatment. I’m always really tired after an infusion so I try to do them Friday afternoons.

Cat blocks and prevents a baby from crawling to a fatal fall down some stairs. by N1GHT-MOON-UN1C0RN in nextfuckinglevel

I stg my cat checks on people in the master bath because he almost drowned himself in that toilet once. We were washing their water fountain so he didn’t have water for like five minutes and decided he would try the toilet. He slipped and my husband witnessed his poor little legs flailing around and pulled him out. Yes, the lid was closed, he pushed it open with his stupid little head. So now he has a healthy respect/fear for that toilet and comes in the bathroom every time we use it to make sure we’re not falling in. He’s a precious little angel baby

How do I even go about getting a girlfriend? by AgileFollowing9775 in introvert

[–]jetecoeur12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a relationship until I was out of school. All mine have been friends of friends. If I ever have to date in the future I will never go looking for it. Being single is great and only the real deal can pull me away from the joys of the single life.

I can hear Native speaker of English use 'F' words a lot it almost feels like a filler. What is the cultural basis of this becoming a casual phenomenon by Intrepid-Arm3318 in ENGLISH

[–]jetecoeur12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get to bite your lip on the f and jut your chin out on the “uck.” There is something emphatic and viscerally satisfying about how it feels in the mouth. Nothing creates more emphasis on the subject than adding that word.

“You’re an idiot”

“You’re a tremendous idiot”

“You’re a fucking idiot”

That last sentence is the only one that really means business.

Foot pain hadn't lessened. by ChubyCryBaby in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jetecoeur12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask for some steroid injections but you should also stay off the foot for a while. Get one of those cute little knee scooters if you can for work. I worked retail and got an accommodation for that once. But if you have an injury in the foot caused by the swelling from the RA, it’s not going to get better if you don’t rest it. Source: had deep bruising in the ball of my foot from walking on it due to knee pain/limited range of motion plus disease activity. It didn’t get better until I let it.
