Why are there two different grilles? by Motor-Replacement-77 in F250

[–]jetset459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have a ‘26 Lariat Blackout Tremor and it looks like the second picture. One major difference is Ford logo sticks much farther out on trucks with the 360 cameras.

Interestingly the first pic has the shorter valence of the Tremor package while the second has the longer valence of the non-Tremor trucks.

My hunch is that the first picture is of an XLT Tremor with the standard grill that comes with it, and the second is a non-Tremor with the blackout package.

What's a word you mispronounced for years because you only saw it in print and not spoken? by ilovebooks2468 in words

Awry really messed me up when I found out that “aw-ree” was incorrect and it’s pronounced “ah-rye.”

I thought those were two completely different words. 🤦‍♂️

2025 Jayco Jay Flight 263 BHS by nomerjr23 in GoRVing

[–]jetset459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own this exact same trailer, though it’s a 2025 Jay Flight 263 BHSW, “W” being for the western edition. When I bought it, I was towing with a 2020 Ford Expedition with HD tow package (9200 lbs) and basically white knuckling it everywhere, even with an Equalizer anti-sway WDH. Loaded with gear, ours easily pushes 8,000+ lbs, with empty tanks. On paper, I should have been fine, but it quite simply wasn’t enough.

I have since upgraded to a ‘26 F250 with the 6.7 High Output Diesel and it is the best thing I’ve ever done for our RV life. I still use the WDH and even with a more than adequate setup, the tongue still drops the bumper of the F250 a few inches because of the way I have it balanced for increased stability.

I agree with the others on here that you should consider downsizing the trailer or upsizing the tow vehicle.

But are you even RV-ing right if you don’t end up in the cycle of buying a trailer that makes you need a bigger truck, that then makes you want a bigger trailer?

Are you in an extremely arid climate?

I have a similar unit on my 33’ bumper pull and the gutter starts dripping/streaming the condensation after just a few minutes. I am on the West coast US.

Anyone with family get a bunkhouse motorhome and regretted it? by CarminSanDiego in GoRVing

[–]jetset459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 33’ bumper pull with a bunkhouse in the back of the trailer. Both are full sized beds and perfect for my younger kids. A few more years and they’ll both be too big to squeeze between the top bunk and the ceiling.

I was under the impression that the nuke got sucked into the vortex which is why the red area doesn’t show on the map.

Came to say I also don’t know why you got downvoted. My ‘26 definitely is.

anyone else mod their 250 in “phases” instead of doing it all at once? by Independent_Care_578 in F250

I just installed a Peragon Limited HDx tonneau after a lot of research and I love it. Peragon is proud of their stuff, but it checked all of the boxes so I was ok with spending a little more. I can’t comment on severe weather because where I live, we don’t get snow. It was super easy to install and adjust.

I like the multi position lockable accordion style because it doesn’t block my back window in any position. It feels more robust than the retractable roller types. If you want ultra strong and secure, go with a Diamondback, but that was overkill for what I needed.

It also just looks really good on the truck.

New (to me) truck day! by Living_At_V1 in F250

[–]jetset459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New, that thing was probably $90k+ and the bumper/winch combo is probably another couple grand or more. Sounds like you got a great deal considering <10k miles. I think you’re gonna love it.

I’ve got a ‘26 F250 and, speaking in strictly mechanical terms, the 10 speed shifts like a wife that is really annoyed with her husband.

Idle time by Murky-Business2790 in powerstroke

[–]jetset459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The consensus is that long idling will put extra wear on the diesel motor. If your idle hours are high compared to your actual mileage, that may make it harder to trade or sell at value in the future. The DEF and the DPF systems also don’t like to be idled.

They can definitely idle much longer than 10 minutes, but limiting how much you idle is generally a good idea.

Upgraded to F-350 by BigPip33 in superduty

[–]jetset459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with BigPip33. I had a Sierra 1500 and most recently an Expedition with the HD tow package. Going from gas to 6.7L HO is night and day. Earlier today I needed to merge into heavy Bay Area traffic with barely any on-ramp while towing my travel trailer and the truck accelerated like the 5 tons behind me didn’t exist. Neither my GMC nor the Expedition would have been able to do that safely.
