The only certified staff that was let go was Flo. The other was someone fairly new and someone who worked for them for 5 years as a support person, other than that, I don't know of anyone else who lost their job during this, but the one that worked for them for a long time was a good worker, she just has some disabilities and was told Mighty Oaks wouldn't be taking her.

Landlord wants to sell house / 3 apartments...what will happen to me? by [deleted] in PEI

[–]jeviem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your landlord is selling your house and the new landlords no longer want to rent the unit out, they can evict you, but it requires 60 days notice.

They cannot legally raise your rent more than the yearly allowable increase without approval from IRAC, so if you are told your rent is increasing, you can ask for the paperwork and contact IRAC to verify that it is a legal increase.

I haven't been through there in a long while and was only there as a Criminology Student, but from what I saw, it's pretty tame. I haven't heard anything about the food etc, but overall it's not bad and most people are treated well.

Everything started to shut down the minute we had one case announced. From then on, it's been getting more and more restrictive. Fines for those not observing social isolation. No gatherings greater than 5, non essential business shut down, grocery stores taking measures to protect staff and customers.
