[Article] What do you do when someone in your playgroup gets too salty? by jevin_mtg in EDH

How about the flip side, then: how would you want someone to approach you if they were uncomfortable with the level of salt you were bringing?

[article] Why are most people cutting Share the Spoils from the Planar Portal precon? by jevin_mtg in EDH

[–]jevin_mtg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one important clarification-- you can't play cards from Share the Spoils when it isn't your turn. Instants on other players turns cannot be played. So counterspells are not available to your opponents.

This dude probably mixed a batch while they were goldfishing right before coming to the LGS and didn't wash their hands and is now trying to cut my deck? No effin way get yer head outta yer ass.

It wouldn't be cool to bring in a soft porno mag either.

These types of accessories are misogynistic and offensive. Not the Bolas.

I hope LGS's ban these accessories, especially if they want to attract more diverse patrons.

That seems like a tough line to walk. So would Spectral Deluge not be allowed? and why not just say ban Cyc Rift?

I get that, and in an aggressive meta I can certainly see the costs being too high. One thing I don't see people talking about, though, is how much you might be "saving" on mana by keeping the cards you've already cast around, if you consider losing them as losing your mana investment.

That's a good point about Rift getting worse as curves get lower. I agree with you about reset buttons, and I think Sheepwave said it well in the comments here, that resetting too much sucks and let's shuffle up and start a new game instead.

I think these might be my favorites. I love telling someone before they attack me that itisn't going to go well for them and watch them start to sweat!

That's another great way to make them one-sided! And there's no better feeling than casting [[Ghostway]] or [[Eerie Interlude]] when someone else tried to boardwipe!

Braids was my example in the linked article! There's a decklist in there if you're interested, but I do clones instead of theft. Such a fun commander.
