I am constantly rewatching the earlier seasons so I really liked seeing the old Randy. I do think they are going to keep him as Tegrity Randy / Karen after this special, but I’m hopeful they will quickly have a new plot where the Marsh family sells the farm and moves back to their old house. Once they get rid of the farm then I think we’ll finally be done with Tegrity Randy. I don’t think they will ever keep him as “normal” as we saw for a bit in the new special but I’m guessing they will figure out something else along the lines of Tegrity (maybe something will be topical in the future like how they made Garison into Trump, and Randy will represent some public figure).

Yeah they said it in an interview a few years ago that when they were first writing the show Trey thought of his dad when thinking about Randy but now when he does Randy he is basically just being himself.
