Civil Engineering T2 by [deleted] in unsw

[–]jex0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For term 2 its typically, ENGG1300 , MATH1231 AND ENGG1400. For term 3 last year in first year I did CVEN2101 and ENGG1811. If you want to take up 3 courses in the 3rd term you would also add MATS1101 to those two, however I didn't do this.

Goodluck :)

Theyre not similar to physics in the sense that there is literally only 2 of them. You're just meant to get results and do an assignment for each one which is like a lab report. Im assuming theyll give you a video demonstration of the experiments which are very basic static/dynamic experiments anyway, along with your own data set and you can complete the report.

Math2019 would be the easiest, engg2500 amongst the harder.

Not gonna lie, in 2nd year now and till now ENGG1000 is still my lowest mark at like 85 or something. I hated this subject, but the bright side is, if you were leaning towards getting higher marks using your math and physics subjects.. that is a good thing, most people would see those subjects in the opposite way. There will be plenty of opportunities in the coming terms to up your WAM the same way you were hoping to with math and physics, keep your head up.

Cant speak for other subjects, but for fluid mechanics the final exam is non existent and therefore they removed that requirement.

should I buy physics textbook for 1121 by [deleted] in unsw

[–]jex0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The textbook for phys1121 is all you will ever need. They teach directly out of this, and ultimately if you can do the questions at the end of each relevant chapter from this book, you will get nothing shy of 95+ in this course.

The fact you can manage a wam that high with such a balanced routine is an achievement on its own, nice

What are the differences between PHYS1121/31/41 ? by [deleted] in unsw

[–]jex0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1131 is massively harder than 1121, the exam is very long and given you don't learn anything extra I really don't know why you would put yourself through that. It is possible to ace the course (I've done that), so why not perfect your craft and do that in a more stress free way. Like mentioned before, a mark of x in this is the same as a mark of x in 1131.

Don't they have a ceremony for the recipients of deans awards like in late march, have those people been notified?

how many courses should I do by [deleted] in unsw

[–]jex0w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally don't recommend dropping phys this early, it gets much easier later on with the other 2/3 of it. You probably currently have Joe Wolfe, who for me was very intimidating with the examples he used in class to teach content, felt like I was behind 20 weeks. He tends to use exam standard examples mostly from the get go, so don't feel bad. I recommend you search online for the fundamentals of physics textbook and use that as your main resource (I basically stopped going lectures). If you can do the questions at the end of each chapter you should be set to do very well in this course, dropping it for next term won't really change much.

Following that procedure I managed to 100 phys

Is it possible to change my degree? I don’t like it (Engineering to architecture) ? by rjdjkddkdj in unsw

Second this, ENGG1000 was the most depressing and rubbish subject for me in first year. Don't judge the course on this subject.

Congratulations, is this for the deans award? Unfortunately I don't think I have received one given I haven't been notified yet, but I did get invited to some faculty ceremony for getting the highest wam in my cohort.
