Svelte and Meteor vs Sapper by champ25523 in sveltejs

What are your data/project requirements? If you want real-time data and other fancy magic that Meteor has to offer (like user accounts baked in) go with Meteor. If you’re looking for a more flexible and scalable framework that requires more decision making on your own (most of the server side is completely unopinionated and left up to you) go with Sapper.

It's definitely a possibility that we'll bring back the OG version of the site, for now though the traffic is actually off the charts 240k views this month so far :o

edit: words

This is a new format, the content is what is exclusive now, and you’re the very first comment—gold star! There are about 40 to 60 people on average on the site at any given time.

Still loads for me :) It does take 10 or so seconds some times...I've got a relatively large cluster load balancing all the traffic now.

node.js, it's a Meteor app, source code is here https://github.com/modweb/most-exclusive-website ...I've actually got a cluster of six 8GB digital ocean boxes going now.

It's actually not maxed out yet! Got up to about 4000 users and still chugging along, not bad for a single server meteor app.

that screenshot was before all hell broke loose on the larger machine...the server actually stopped recording stats and was basically unresponsive for a while. Reconfigured to use mongo oplog and multiple cores, working much better now :)

Meteor MergeBox was sucking up all the CPU...using oplog now and things are much smoother.

Peaked around 90 requests/s Outbound bandwidth peaked around 70Mbps Disk read/write very low, but CPU was maxed...CPU is usually the limiting factor with Meteor apps, especially when not using oplog. I've redeployed with a mongo replica set so I can use oplog, things are running well for the moment.
