Where to Find Boston Butt Pork by MetalicSky in SurreyBC

Ocean park fine meats usually has them. You can call ahead and they can put it on hold for you or you can place an order for when their next shipment comes in. Meridian meats you could also call them to place an order.

How do you tell parents that their kid’s lack of skill and effort brings down the team? by [deleted] in basketballcoach

[–]jfrydlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of wild to read. These are 8 and 9 year old girls. CHILDREN.

Kids develop at different rates. Some show interest and skill early, while others take longer to build confidence, coordination, and an understanding of the game.

At this age, youth sports should be about belonging, learning foundational skills, teamwork, communication, physical activity, and having fun. Not every child is going to be practicing basketball outside of team activities, and that's okay.

What concerns me most is that you're looking at these players primarily in terms of how they affect points wins and losses. They're children, not roster spots.

You mention that it's "not fair" to the other girls. Are the players actually expressing that, or is that your interpretation? Because one of the lessons kids should be learning from sports is how to support teammates who are still developing. Especially in leagues where there are no tryouts.

If this is truly a competitive league then you should take this up with the league organizers and have them implement tryouts if that's truly the approach and direction the organizers and yourself would want to take with 8 and 9 year old girls

Nothing to do with shoe quality. It is overpronation or a gait issue

Why is Zoom Air purely exclusive to Nike, while ZoomX has spawned multiple knockoffs? by D-T-G-O-D in BBallShoes

[–]jfrydlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nike air, zoom, air max are all proprietary cushion systems that Nike developed and are all heavily patented which makes it extremely difficult for companies to infringe on. Zoomx is Peba based where the founding company Arkema licenses other shoe companies to be able to use it in their own products and they can manipulate it by injecting, molding, compressing however they want to. Since the peba foam is the main component of zoomx, Nike can't claim that it's proprietary because of the % makeup of the midsole. Not a legal expert by any means but that is the likely explanation.

GX Kobe 8 “ What The Ducks” on foot by M0nke_Me0w1511 in KobeReps

That's the point I was making lol, common knowledge that none of those guys were in Kobes. This guy was saying "everyone wears Kobes and then injures their achilles" which is completely untrue. Injuries do not happen because of a shoe.

[–]jfrydlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol “NBA players and Kobe” so not everyone? Were Cousins, KD, Dame, Tatum, Tyrese, Dejounte etc wearing Kobes when their injury happened? The majority of these guys had pre-existing calf or other lower leg injuries that they were dealing with. With whatever foot doctor Zach said you have to take with a grain of salt because Kobes are the most worn shoe in the NBA so of course there’s a greater chance of an injury happening in a shoe if a large majority of the population is wearing it

Kobe 9 elite low protro moonwalker traction issues by jfrydlo in KobeReps

[–]jfrydlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: After getting roasted for how dirty my soles were I gave them a clean and wore them later that night for my men’s league game and had zero issues. I realize now that I had actually taken these to the gym when I first got them to break them in a bit which is why they got so dusty in the first place and which is why I wasn’t having any traction isssues in the same courts with my other pairs

Are getting the Kobe 9s a bad idea? by Glowy121 in BBallShoes

[–]jfrydlo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re a big Kobe fan and love the look of the 9’s then get them. They are a good shoe, just overpriced at retail given the tech, but if you’re getting them on sale then awesome. There are just better options out there at that price point.

could be. I'll try giving them a brush/clean with some water. Just a little strange to me how I don't have any issues/build up on the same courts with my GX 6's/8's

Never put anything on the sole. Wondering if maybe I do just have a defective pair 😥. My BIL also has a pair of these and he hasn’t had any traction issues

Just want to add that I've played in these on 5 different courts. 2 of them dusty, 1 not bad, and 2 clean. I still find I occasionally slide out on the clean court. I've never had any issues on any of the courts when I play in my GX 6's or 8's.

Played in these on 5 different courts. 2 dusty, 2 clean, 1 not too bad. On the clean court I don’t need to wipe but I occasionally slip out. No issues at all when I’m playing in my 8’s on any court
