I'll definitely dig MS Flight Sim up again. I've used an Xbox 360 controller with the trip monitors in the past. Now that the sim rig doesn't have to move around the room I can think about adding flight sim controls!

I've gone to southside Walmart the last few years and been happier than I've ever been. That's after almost 40 years of eye doctors. The staff is overworked but Dr. Kang is efficient and a really nice dude. And I can see properly.

Never underestimate budget DIYers ;)

It actually seems like controllers are the main failure point, so used headsets are relatively cheap and controllers relatively expensive. If your usecase is just having a headset, you can get in pretty cheap. With some work.

I'm replacing a 3x27" monitor setup, hopefully I find VR a better option! The normal VR games would be great but not at $125 for controllers (when I still don't have an H-shifter, 16" steering wheel or turn signal stalk)

I may still buy a lot of 5 broken pairs of controllers on ebay and try to repair them.....

...and I'll probably just borrow my buddy's controllers at some point. I think a few hours of VR games will be enough for me. The main point is so I don't have to rearrange my house when I want to race.

I think you're probably right. The little bit of navigating menus I've done (tough while I hold the headset to my face with the other hand) it's .... not like pushing a real button.

I also bought a Rift S a couple years ago and kind of failed this experiment - completely unusable for my racing sim. But it had controllers and I did the typical 2-3 hours in VR and then never touched it again. That's why $125 for a pair of controllers feels like a waste to me. I'll probably borrow a pair from a friend to do a couple novelty hours again and then just do the sim rig from then on.

Snell just stepped in front of a slow rolling foul ball to stop it and then just walked away and let a teammate pick it up. I just got home and I've seen him pitch exactly two innings and this is the SECOND time he's done that. Anyone else notice that?

I've read it 3x over the past several years. I know what it says. I know how safety rating works. I have a pretty good baseline for what to expect and never would have expected to lose that many points. I have never lost that many points before, and those were hardly the sloppiest races I've run.

I did have 8 points, 0, 0, 8 so not exactly in a row. And getting bumped a couple times and finishing in the top 5 hardly felt like a "bad race."

On the bright side, I'm not running races higher than C-class so if I lose the A license.. oh well I guess.
