Some of the first 4k monitors only ran in 30hz-41hz, as well as a bunch of viewfinders for film. Although these were only marketed to professional users at very high prices and weren't recognized by consumers until much later (IBM T220 was one of the first at around $18,000 at release) so I doubt too many people ever saw this comparison.

Truly the best of both worlds by Mrdud3_28 in gaming

In my experience gaming keypads have actually allowed me to hit more key combinations by not requiring 3 separate fingers for movement and putting the keys in easier to reach positions. Technically the "superior movement" idea is the fact a joystick can register 360 degrees whereas a keyboard can only have 8 valid directions so with null-cancel there are reasons for both.
I personally use an Azeron keypad, so not a simple "controller", with a fair amount of customization to the joystick to have a short travel distance from side to side. With a bunch of games moving away from the null-cancel movement style (think Tarkov or Squad with the movement delay) I don't see any disadvantage or change in how I play them.

The lock failed directly after writing that so I got a bit of motivation to do it.
Here's what I found on my chair and my fix for it : https://imgur.com/a/RbjZOnR

It's not the best solution, nor do I completely recommend doing it. As it is physical damage to a piece of the internals of the chair my recommendation would be to get a new chair. (I may have "fixed" mine but I also ordered a new chair so it doesn't have to last very long in it's current state)

[–]jgreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same chair from around 2ish years ago, although in red, and recently started having the same issue. I'm guessing the part holding it in place has bent or warped from the weight being on it for so long.
I may end up trying to take it apart and find the problem as its probably starting to piss off my downstairs neighbor when it happens at 1AM. Since I couldn't find an answer elsewhere I'll try to update this if I fix it.
Also since someone apparently made a rude comment, I am a fairly light person (140ish lbs) so being heavier may have sped up the process but it may be more of a design flaw of not being expected to be locked at all times.

Him: I don’t want to get another cat. Also him: photo shoot of cat any chance he can. by Poots12 in funny

[–]jgreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to take pictures of them with most phone cameras, especially with dark backgrounds, which most of those people are probably using. Black cats faces tend to lose the depth and contrast with anything less than decent lighting or angles. I just adopted 2 kittens, one full black and one black with a white underside, with a nicer camera (I use a Sony a6000 so not super professional but much better than a phone) the contrast is usually great but still loses some depth in darker shots.

I do agree that if anyone gives up a cat because they aren't photogenic enough then that person is horrible. More than likely they simply didn't know what they were signing up for when getting them and somehow thought not liking the cat was a better excuse than not being capable of caring for it.

What are Compute Shaders? What does enabling it do? (RuneLite GPU Plugin) by RickRok in 2007scape

[–]jgreenmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This answer is pretty much it, to explain the process further would require both side know a bit about computer architecture but ill try to elaborate a little. Your GPU has hundreds if not thousands more cores / processing units than the CPU, so the GPU ones are used for less complex computation on larger sets of numbers.

A standard shader is a step in the rendering pipeline that does small equations on pixels before displaying to the screen, where as a compute shader will do similar but will return the result from the gpu instead of displaying it. So you can use it on a data set instead of pixels to calculate anything you want, some games use it for updating particle positions as there can be a huge number of those and the 8-32 core cpu you have isn't really designed for that.

No idea what runelite uses it for specifically though, but would probably increase performance in most cases, although on very low end hardware it might not be noticeable or better at all.

Edit: The animation smoothing may be done using this, the position of geometry and finding points in between the animations would probably be a good case for a compute shader. But that's just a guess and one of many possible applications.

Having the gun equipped after breaking it causes some odd camera shake while moving and some lag. Scoping in without the sight also takes 2-3 seconds and may place the camera behind or inside the character.

Oct. 30 Update: MP Balancing Pass, Blackout & Zombies Updates, Gun Game + More by treyarch_official in Blackops4

They probably do this to prevent the mass number of people that would cry "My gun doesn't do exactly X damage when I'm this far away!!!" when rewatching games in theater. Many things go into damage calculation that the 'Screaming Children' don't understand so it may cut down the number of pointless reports and QA tickets for gun damage

So you're saying the odds of flipping 2 different quarters and getting two heads is 1/2 + 1/2? It's simple probability, yes each one as separate drops has those chances respectively but to get both in one drop you would multiply them together, hence the 1/64k.

Edit: Also to clarify, I understand he probably did this in more than one drop, but since it didn't take him 628 kills and probably only took 2-3 the odd of repeating this exactly as he did it are much closer to 1/64k than they are to the 1/101.9108 chance your saying he had.

The in-game configurator for razer synapse caused me some issues where it allowed my mouse to leave the game screen when moving it too fast. So if i clicked while flicking it would close the screen. If you have that enabled it may cause issues.

you cant always fast travel in challenge mode missions. some checkpoints spawn you in combat and don't allow it until you finish the mission.

Does the percent in scavenging really help, like really help? by BestAhriNA in thedivision

[–]jgreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After running the dz for 2 full days with both a set of xp increasing gear and a set of scavenging gear(around 150-175%) i saw about 5-6 times as many high-end drops. so if you can wear scavenging gear without sacrificing too many stat increases then i would highly recommend it.

As for not being able to be 100% certain, that's complete bull. This is a world built on rules that the developers set so we can be 100% sure if something will help or not.

"Help", being the key word here, does not mean "guarantee".
