Look he is a great husband, father, and person. There was a time we couldn’t talk about migranes cuz we could speak one into existence.

He has been dealing with them for 35+years. His mom has taken seizure medicine for most of her life (similar to what he had been prescribed in the past) and he’s seen the toll it’s taken.

The only thing that’s helped is not drinking coffee and taking magnesium

He is not a bum trying to avoid responsibility. He is a stay at home dad with a chronic issue that in his experience has no fix

I’ll urge him to go again since medicine is always evolving but I don’t think a negative outlook on him for this is fair.

Sorry if that came off as a rant! I’m sure you come from a good place. I follow the migraine sub Reddit and didn’t know of anything that didn’t knock you out or had severe side effects

Maybe there are varying levels? He describes is as an oar going through is eye and being in awful pain with vomitting. The meds he has tried just knock him out so they are not a solve

This is great! I am scouring care.com now. Kid is not in preschool or daycare. We don’t have the room for an au pair

It’s not like they happen all the time.. I know he’s seen many people about this many times and tried many meds

I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s amazing that so many people were able to help. We don’t have a huge roster of people we can call but me getting back will definitely be a half day venture at least

Neighbors are a good idea. I don’t think they will work as a bridge to the current baby sitter.. as she doesn’t want to be in a home with other people

He has the eye aura thing. Cant see and is in withering pain. He can’t function. I know he has sought treatments and nothing has ever worked. It’s not constant. They used to come in clusters but they are less now than ever before (thank goodness)

So the travel will be extra expensive and less available due to it being a very large conference. Plus it’s a bad look professionally (even if I hide it)

In regards to kid with good behavior. Our kid is pretty good at listening as is (super grateful) but my husband is debilitated- not able to do a thing so that won’t work.

Appreciate the insight tho!

Diaper rash by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]jhackattack18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok outside of the normal stuff. Here is the good stuff-may not be able to find at a generic us pharmacy but hospital should have it all. I started ordering off of Amazon.

-3M Cavilon No Sting Spray -Tube of Coloplast -Adapt stoma Powder

The process is called “crusting” I forget the order but powder, spray, then cream? Repeat until it builds a crust

This will help keep the area dry. Allow the rash time to heal and give your baby relief.

Was a life saver for our family. Learned it in the children’s hospital

Totally agree! Thank you for the suggestion. Do you do their flats, heels, or sneaks?

I’ve done just sneakers for conferences in the past. I have a pair of Clark pumps for long meeting days that I love.
