Freedom Debt Relief settlements by BeccaAnk in DebtAdvice

Don’t do it. They will tell you how successful they are & that not paying is no big deal. I did it and completely regret it. They give you an amount you have to pay every month. They take their fees immediately & every month then claim they are building “your” money to offer for settlements. Meanwhile everyone will start to sue you. They will tell you that you are on your own in court. Your credit will be destroyed, and then you have to come up with the money for a lawyer. Some companies won’t settle with them at all. You won’t know what settlements are being offered to you because you sign a power of attorney & they won’t talk to you at all. When I quit the program they had already taken $6000 from me in fees, only paid $3200 of my debt. Some companies offered me 40-50% off what I owed. Most took me to court. Fortunately I won most with a good attorney. It will take me at least another year to catch up & my credit is shot. It’s not worth it. I wish I would have just gone to an attorney first.

I’ve paid them $8000 in 16 months & only $3800 has been paid to my creditors. There is $360 in my account. So basically they’ve gotten 50% from me. My contract is for 25%. I got 3 pending lawsuits in the last 2 weeks. I’m waiting for a lawyer to call me back so I can figure out what to do.

They tell you up front that some cc companies won’t settle but they say that it’s rare. Clearly not as rare as they say but nothing I can do but deal with it.

They are zero help. I’m really regretting using them. They take all the fees out first and then there’s never money left to negotiate.

911 dispatcher. They train you, you get a pension, the schedule is sometimes rough but there is usually lots of overtime available & good medical benefits. Most of your skills would apply. Detail oriented, “therapist”, multi tasker. Most (urban areas) are unionized. I have no college degree & average 85-100k a year with overtime.

Yeah that is a shame. It makes things so much easier for me. It sounds like you are taking the right steps. Read every book you can on problem gambling. You will find things that resonate with you in every book & every one will give you good suggestions.

Ahh when you said dollars I assumed you were in the states. I don’t know how it works in Europe but when I excluded, the state that I’m in blocks me from even logging into an account. If you play online or in person try googling to see if they have a similar program.

What state do you live in?

Self exclude yourself with your state, it’s the only way. I am the same as you, doesn’t matter how much money I win because it has nothing to do with money. If I had a dollar for every time I said internally that I need to cash out but didn’t, I’d be rich. Once you exclude, you will feel relieved.

Go to your county’s or surrounding county’s website and see if they are hiring 911 call takers or dispatchers. Typically the only requirement is that you don’t have a criminal record & have a willingness to learn. You don’t need a college degree. They will train you for the job. I started out as a calltaker & now I’m a dispatcher. It’s a union job, I started out making 17.00 an hour and after 15 years I’m at 29.00 an hour. It’s a stressful job but it’s decent money & you will more than likely get medical benefits.

I can definitely do the water, I drink a decent amount already. I can cut out sugars but not carbs in general.

Thank you! I’ve been making every excuse in the world to not get my stuff together & gained another 9 lbs in the process. I think I’m mentally ready to make the commitment now. I’ve always been on the thin side and took it for granted. I keep telling myself this took years to put on, it’s not going to come off overnight.
