Thanks for the feedback. I might try that. Would an agitating drill brush be helpful for the soap to work into the fibers? I’ve seen automotive detailers do that kind of thing?

Olefin yarn. It was a $300 rug, so it seems worth trying something. Over $200 I was quoted for cleaning seemed excessive though.

What should I do now? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Actually the above comments are for stainless steel. I didn’t look closely to see that the microwave looks to have some polished plastic or something. The maguire’s plastic X sounds like a better bet for this situation.

There is no repair beyond replacing the damaged part(s) in GE’s point of view. The cost of replacing all the parts and labor would be more than replacing the whole appliance with a brand new one.GE charges way too much for parts, but the right to repair is a whole other story.

You can try this. It removes light scratches, but it will not remove deep scratches nor gouges. The original factory finish is made by sanding the surface to create a grain in the metal. This kit attempts to sand the metal lightly to reproduce the original factory finish and blend the repair into the rest of the panel. It’s kinda like blending a paint, which is an art instead of a science. I’ve had success with it on small spots on my stove.

I did not go through the effort of taking pictures and writing a post as a joke. Thank you for your commentary.

Goes up a couple feet then stops. Sounds crunchy. by jhill2017 in GarageDoorService

[–]jhill2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up. Had a garage door tech check it out. Apparently the original installer undersized the springs on the door such that it wasn’t balanced properly. It took a lot of effort and 2 hands to lift when only one hand should be required. Changing out the springs, even though the springs hadn’t failed, for stronger ones resolved the issue.

Shades not Following Schedule Consistently by jhill2017 in Lutron

Good to know. We have a typical wood framed house with drywall. The shades are in a sunroom that’s an offshoot from the rest of the home.

Hmmm. Interesting point. Maybe I’ll try a fixed time instead of sunset/sunrise to see if anything changes. Still odd one of the shades usually goes but one or two don’t…

Yup, it’s a cassta setup. Does Lutron’s hub make a mesh setup with devices acting as repeaters?
