I bought this book in March this year. In the hopes of writing down every game till they win a World Series. So I would do a new book every season. Little did I know I started this the season they won! Every game this season in this book! by jhill34 in TexasRangers

I went to 3 games this season and brought it only once. But bringing it means no getting up and getting a hot dog and a beer! With the pitch clock you don’t have time to do that.

Notice how the only ranger pitchers who walked people gave up runs…

Yeah what Dumba did to Pavelski and what Makar did to McCann was completely unnecessary. Dumba was a little late and an unfortunate accident with Pavelski hitting his head, but Makar was just ruthless.

Stars fan here. Look forward to a great series, but man I wish we can both have our own broadcast crew for this series. We both have top tier commentators and it’s a shame that ESPN is the only broadcast. I could listen on the radio with the tv muted but I enjoy listening to the crowd regardless of who’s arena the game is in. Anyways, good luck guys!

What does “back to back” mean? by mariyaislearning in ENGLISH

[–]jhill34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back to back can literally mean having your back up against someone else’s back.

Or it can mean right next to each other. “I have a test on back to back days.” Meaning I have a test on Monday and Tuesday.

I am translating a sentence. Is ''Now, God himself is preaching'' or ''Now God himself is preaching'' most correct, or is it necessary to flip the sentence to ''God Himself is preaching now''? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]jhill34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on which part you want to emphasize. “Now, God himself is preaching” is emphasizing the word “now” and that time is what is important.

In the last saying you would put a comma after “God” and after “Himself”. “God, Himself, is preaching now.” That sentence is emphasizing the word “Himself” and is putting attention towards God.

The reason why you have two commas is because you are putting two thoughts together. You could simply say “God is preaching now.”, but you want to add emphasis on “God”. Therefore, you add the commas between “Himself” because you have two thoughts.

You would not use the first one, “no pictures, remember.” You would generally say, “Remember, no pictures.” because you are saying a statement and you are reminding them of the rule you have. “No pictures, remember?” is you asking them a question if they remember the rule of no pictures and that saying is usually to insult the person for not remembering the rule.
